Provided is a cosmetic composition that is used for imparting corneum improving effect and exhibits reduced skin irritation. A microneedle type cosmetic composition containing: 30 to 100 mass % of a water-soluble or water-swellable polymer compound; and one or more types of natural moisturizing factors, wherein when the microneedle type cosmetic composition contains 100 mass % of the water-soluble or water-swellable polymer compound, the water-soluble or water-swellable polymer compound is the natural moisturizing factors; and a method for producing the microneedle type cosmetic composition, including: preparing an aqueous solution of a water-soluble or water-swellable polymer compound, and mixing the aqueous solution with one or more types of natural moisturizing factors to produce a cosmetic raw material liquid.
Water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic that has a replenishing and smooth feel-of-use, that, once applied, forms a uniform coating, and that can minimize the appearance of skin roughness such as pores while covering discoloration such as spots and freckles, but that does not give an impression of a thick coating. The present invention provides a water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic characterized by containing (A) 0.1-20 mass % of metallic soap-treated powder, and (B) a water-absorptive polymer having 0.01-2 mass % of a carboxyl group. The (B) water-absorptive polymer having a carboxyl group of this cosmetic preferably can absorb 10-1,000 times its own weight.
Polymer of hyaluronate and of glucomannan
The present invention concerns a sphere, characterized in that it comprises at least one polymer of hyaluronate and glucomannan. It also concerns a polymer of hyaluronate and glucomannan characterized in that each bond between a hyaluronate group and a glucomannan group is an ester bond. In addition, it concerns their production process and their use, in particular as a filling or hydration agent.
Water-soluble and/or water-swellable hybrid polymer
A water-soluble and/or water-swellable hybrid polymer comprising: (i) from 5 wt.-% to 95 wt.-% water-soluble and/or water-swellable polysaccharide polymer; (ii) from 5 wt.-% to 95 wt.-% synthetic polymer comprising: (a) from 40 mol-% to 99 mol-% of repeating units according to Formula (1) ##STR00001## (b) from 0.01 mol-% to 5 mol-% crosslinking or branching units, wherein the crosslinking or branching units result from the incorporation of a monomer comprising at least two olefinically unsaturated double bonds; (c) from 0.99 mol-% to 59.99 mol-% of repeating neutral structural units;
wherein components (i) and (ii) are polymerized by radical precipitation polymerization in a polar solvent.
Antidandruff composition and method of use
An aqueous anti-dandruff shampoo composition which comprises: (I) a cleansing surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactant, zwitterionic or amphoteric surfactant and nonionic surfactant; (II) suspended particles of an anti-dandruff agent, (III) an anti-settling, thickening polymer, wherein the anti-settling, thickening polymer, comprises: (a) 40 to 74.5 wt % of structural units of C.sub.1-4 alkyl acrylate; (b) 20 to 50 wt % of structural units of methacrylic acid; (c) 0.2 to <5 wt % of structural units of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS); (d) 5 to 25 wt % of structural units of a specialized associated monomer having the following structure wherein R.sup.1 is a linear saturated C.sub.10-24 alkyl group; wherein R.sup.2 is a hydrogen or a methyl group (preferably, wherein R.sup.2 is a methyl group); and wherein n is an average of 20 to 28; with the proviso that the structural units of the specialized associated monomer (d) are derived from one of (i) a single specialized associated monomer (preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C.sub.12 alkyl group, a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.22 alkyl group; more preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C12 alkyl group and a linear saturated C18 alkyl group); (ii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein R.sup.1 is, respectively, a linear saturated C.sub.12 and a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group; or (iii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein R.sup.1 is, respectively, a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.22 alkyl group; (e) 0 to 1 wt % of structural units of acrylic acid; and (f) 0 to 2 wt % of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer or chain transfer agent; and wherein the sum of the weight percentages of structural units (a)-(f) is equal to 100 wt % of the anti-settling, thickening polymer; and the use of such a composition in a method of treating hair or scalp. ##STR00001##
Shampoo composition and method of use
An acidic aqueous shampoo composition, which comprises: (I) a cleansing surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactant, zwitterionic or amphoteric surfactant and nonionic surfactant; (II) an emulsified silicone, (III) an anti-settling, thickening polymer, wherein the anti-settling, thickening polymer, comprises: (a) 40 to 74.5 wt % of structural units of C.sub.1-4 alkyl acrylate; (b) 20 to 50 wt % of structural units of methacrylic acid; (c) 0.3 to <5 wt % of structural units of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-propane sulfonic acid (AMPS); (d) 5 to 25 wt % of structural units of a specialized associated monomer having the following structure: wherein R.sup.1 is a linear saturated C.sub.10-24 alkyl group; wherein R.sup.2 is a hydrogen or a methyl group (preferably, wherein R.sup.2 is a methyl group); and wherein n is an average of 20 to 28; with the proviso that the structural units of the specialized associated monomer (d) are derived from one of (i) a single specialized associated monomer (preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C.sub.12 alkyl group, a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.22 alkyl group; more preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C.sub.12 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group); (ii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein R.sup.1 is, respectively, a linear saturated C.sub.12 and a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group; or (iii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein R.sup.1 is, respectively, a linear saturated C.sub.18 alkyl group and a linear saturated C.sub.22 alkyl group; (f) 0 to 2 wt % of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer or chain transfer agent; and wherein the sum of the weight percentages of structural units (a)-(f) is equal to 100 wt % of the anti-settling, thickening polymer; and method of treating hair or scalp with such a composition. ##STR00001##
Heterogenous cosmetic ink composition for inkjet printing applications
A cosmetic ink composition comprises a particulate material, a polymeric dispersant having a weight average molecular weight of less than about 20,000 daltons, and a polymeric rheology modifier. The particulate material can have a Particle Size Distribution D50 of about 100 nm to about 2,000 nm. The cosmetic ink composition can undergo controlled syneresis, forming a weak colloidal gel phase and a particle-lean, low viscosity phase, which can be printed without interventions such as agitation, mixing, or re-circulation to homogenize the composition.

Method for thickening a cosmetic formulation using an alkali swellable emulsion of a polymer with amps and which is rich in acrylic acid
Process for thickening a composition, through the use of a direct emulsion in water, which is alkali-swellable, of a polymer of the ASE or HASE type, which is both rich in acrylic acid and which has a certain quantity of AMPS. The use of such emulsions simultaneously allows there to be no obligation to use surfactants and organic solvents other than water, and allows the thickening phenomenon to be activated for pHs of less than 7: this latter characteristic is particularly advantageous for formulations intended to be used in contact with skin.
