The particles have an absorption capacity of at least about 1000 times their initial dry or un-swollen volume. Additionally, the skin care composition contains from about 0.01-10% of a dry powder that is either starch or silicone based and wherein the dry powder is coated with a silicone based material. Further there is provided a UV active.
INGESTIBLE FORMULATIONS FOR TRANSIENT, NONINVASIVE REDUCTION OF GASTRIC VOLUME
Provided are ingestible polymeric formulations for the reduction of gastric volume in the treatment of overweight patients, and methods of use thereof. One method involves ingesting one or more ingestible tablets comprising cross-linked polymers formed in a packed mass within the one or more ingestible tablets into a stomach of the subject, wherein the cross-linked polymers comprise a polymer hydrogel comprising carboxymethylcellulose and a carboxylic acid; disintegrating an acid-sensitive gelatin coating such that the coating disintegrates in the gastric fluid and the cross-linked polymers disperse in the stomach; and maintaining the reduction in gastric volume such that a sensation of fullness is induced in the subject without releasing a drug which induces the sensation.

Further there is provided a UV active.
COSMETIC CONTAINING FOAM AS CARRIER
The present invention relates to a cosmetic comprising an acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) as a carrier of a cosmetic composition and, specifically, to a cosmetic comprising a foam carrier and a cosmetic composition loaded on the foam carrier, wherein the foam carrier contains an NBR, includes pores with an average size of 200-900 m, and has a thickness of 1-50 mm, and wherein the cosmetic composition has a viscosity of 2,000-60,000 cps. The present invention has excellent filling ability, loading ability, and discharging ability with respect to the liquid-phase cosmetic composition, and thus facilitates carrying a liquid-phase cosmetic composition with low viscosity to high viscosity.
Rheology Modifiers
Polysaccharide alkali swellable rheology modifiers include an emulsion polymer including at least one polysaccharide portion and at least one synthetic portion wherein the at least one synthetic portion is obtained from at least one anionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer, at least one nonionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer or a combination thereof, wherein at least one of the nonionic ethylenically unsaturated monomers is a hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated monomer, as well as methods of making polysaccharide alkali swellable rheology modifiers.

METHOD FOR THICKENING A COSMETIC FORMULATION USING AN ALKALI SWELLABLE EMULSION OF A POLYMER WITH AMPS AND WHICH IS RICH IN ACRYLIC ACID
Process for thickening a composition, through the use of a direct emulsion in water, which is alkali-swellable, of a polymer of the ASE or HASE type, which is both rich in acrylic acid and which has a certain quantity of AMPS. The use of such emulsions simultaneously allows there to be no obligation to use surfactants and organic solvents other than water, and allows the thickening phenomenon to be activated for pHs of less than 7: this latter characteristic is particularly advantageous for formulations intended to he used in contact with skin.
