SURFACE-REACTED CALCIUM CARBONATE FOR MODIFYING THE BIOMECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE SKIN
The present invention refers to the use of a surface-reacted calcium carbonate in a cosmetic and/or skin care composition as an agent for modifying the biomechanical properties of the skin.
GRANULAR COMPOSITE CONTAINING KERATIN AND HEXAGONAL PLATE-LIKE ZINC OXIDE
This invention provides a material that is capable of preparing an external composition that achieves high smoothness and low roughness and that reflects near-infrared rays. Specifically, a granular composite comprising keratin and hexagonal plate-shaped zinc oxide particles is provided.
SELF-ASSEMBLY TYPE JANUS MICROPARTICLE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to self-assembly type Janus microparticles and a preparation method therefor. The present invention can be used for preparing Janus microparticles in which a degree of phase separation is precisely controlled, for realizing stable interfacial orientation by selectively coating only one side of particles with a metal oxide, and for mass-producing Janus microparticles which have a degree of phase separation precisely controlled and exhibit extreme amphiphilicity in an anisotropic structure. Therefore, the Janus microparticles and the preparation method therefor according to the present invention can be widely used in various fields, thus contributing to industrial development.
ORAL CARE COMPOSITIONS
Described herein are oral care compositions comprising an orally acceptable carrier; an abrasive system comprising a calcium-based abrasive; and a core shell silica particle comprising; a metal silicate; and a silica particle comprising a core having a surface; wherein the metal silicate is chemically bound to a surface of the silica core; and wherein the metal silicate comprises a silicate of a divalent metal ion. Methods of making and using these compositions are also described.
AGENT AND METHOD FOR TEMPORARY DEFORMATION OF KERATIN-CONTAINING FIBERS
Powdery cosmetic compositions containing, based on their total weight
a) from about 5 to about 20% by weight of hydrophobized metal oxide powder
b) from about 40 to about 94% by weight of organic polyol
c) from about 0.1 to about 15% by weight of emulsifier
d) from about 0.1 to about 10% by weight of composite powder, including
(A) powder particles of a silicone elastomer and
(B) particles of silicon dioxide,
wherein the particles of silicon dioxide (B) are immobilized on the surface of the powder particles of the silicone elastomer (A), and
e) from 0 to about 40% by weight of water,
are particularly suitable for the deformation of keratinic fibers, imparting shine, texture and suppleness, without creating a sticky feeling on the skin and/or the keratinic fibers.
STYLING CREAM FOR THE TEMPORARY SHAPING OF HAIR
A cosmetic composition for temporarily shaping hair includes, in a cosmetically acceptable supportrespectively with respect to the total weight of the composition e) from about 0.5% to about 8% by weight of a wax with a melting point of more than about 37 C., f) from about 0.5% to about 5% by weight of a fatty alcohol, g) from about 0.2% to about 2% by weight of a vinylpyrrolidone-containing polymer or copolymer, and h) from about 0.1% to about 10% by weight of composite powder comprising (A) powdered particles of a silicone elastomer, and (B) particles of silicon dioxide, wherein the particles of silicon dioxide (B) are immobilized on the surface of the powdered particles of the silicone elastomer (A).
Microcomplex for use in photoepilation process to obtain it and composition containing it
The present invention relates to a microcomplex containing a modified nanoparticle adsorbed on a host microparticle and to a process to obtain it. The microcomplex is particularly useful for photoepilation. The present invention also relates to a composition containing the microcomplex and to the method for enhanced photoepilation based on the microcomplexes.
Composite powder in which porous polymer is impregnated with scoria powder particles, cosmetic composition containing same, and process for producing same
The present invention relates to a composite powder of scoria powder and a porous polymer. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composite powder (scoria sphere) in which the surface and the inside of a porous polymer are uniformly impregnated with scoria powder particles prepared by spraying in one-step a dispersion in which scoria powder is dispersed in a solution in which a polymer is dissolved; a cosmetic composition containing the same; and a process for producing the same. When the scoria impregnated powder, of the present invention, in which the porous polymer is uniformly impregnated with the scoria powder particles, is formulated as a cosmetic composition, the porous polymer supplements the sebum absorption performance of the scoria miniaturized in a micro size, and thus the sebum absorption power is greatly improved.
Pigment Compositions
The instant disclosure relates to a composition for topical application to the skin comprising a first pearlescent uncoated pigment having an average particle size of 25 um or less; a second pearlescent pigment having an average particle size of 25 um or less, completely or partially coated with one or more layers of metal oxides; a first mica having an average size of 42 um or less, completely or partially coated with one or more layers of red iron oxide; and a second mica having an average size of 25 um or less, completely or partially coated with one or more layers of titanium dioxide. It also relates to methods of using said compositions.
SURFACE-REACTED CALCIUM CARBONATE WITH FUNCTIONAL CATIONS
A process of producing a surface-reacted calcium carbonate is described. In embodiments, a calcium carbonate-comprising material is treated with at least one H.sub.3O.sup.+ ion donor, carbon dioxide, and at least one water-soluble metal cation source in an aqueous medium to form an aqueous suspension of surface-reacted calcium carbonate. A surface-reacted calcium carbonate obtained by said process and its use are also described.
