Surface-treated powders and cosmetic compositions in which such powders are mixed
The invention is directed to the cosmetic powder surface-treated with a silicone gel, wherein the surface treatment with the silicone gel affords excellent water repellency, the exhibits smooth and light touch, and affords moist usability peculiar to the silicone gel and excellent adhesion to skin for the cosmetic powder. The powder is an inorganic powder, an organic powder or a composite powder thereof. The silicone gel is obtained by hydrolysis and condensation reacting an organopolysiloxane containing at least a diorganopolysiloxane having reactive opposite ends shown in the following formula (1) and a silane coupling agent having the following formula (2) with at least two hydrolyzable groups in one molecule or a reactive polysiloxane of the following formula (3) as a crosslinking agent. (1) R.sup.1R.sup.2.sub.2SiO(R.sup.2.sub.2SiO).sub.LSiR.sup.1R.sup.2.sub.2; (2) R.sup.3R.sup.4nSiX.sub.(3-n); and (3) R.sup.5.sub.3SiO(R.sup.5.sub.2SiO)n-SiR.sup.5.sub.3.
ORAL CARE COMPOSITION COMPRISING TREATED ARAGONITE CALCIUM CARBONATE
The present document describes an oral care composition comprising treated aragonite calcium carbonate (CaCO.sub.3) particles having more than 95% (w/w) calcium carbonate content, a specific surface area (SSA) of about 2.70 to about 3.1 m.sup.2/g, for use as a first dental abrasive, a fluoride compound suitable to provide beneficial fluoride treatment to teeth; and a suitable carrier. The treated aragonite calcium carbonate particles have been effectively treated in mildly acidic condition to avoid reaction of fluoride from the fluoride compound and the treated aragonite calcium carbonate particles.
OIL-IN-WATER EMULSION COSMETIC
[Problem] An objective of the present invention is to provide an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic having a watery and well-spreading texture in use and having excellent covering performance.
[Solution] The oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic of the present invention contains (A) an aqueous component selected from monohydric alcohols and dihydric alcohols; (B) a polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone; (C) an oil; (D) a powder having a hydrophobized surface; and (E) a dispersant that is one or more compounds selected from (E-1) a polyglycerin fatty acid ester having three or more glycerin molecules, and (E-2) polyhydroxystearic acid, wherein the (A) aqueous component, in the case of being a monohydric alcohol alone, constitutes 1% to 15% by mass relative to the overall amount of the cosmetic, in the case of being a dihydric alcohol alone, constitutes 1% to 20% by mass relative to the overall amount of the cosmetic, and in the case of being a combination of a monohydric alcohol and a dihydric alcohol, a total amount thereof constitutes 1% to 45% by mass relative to the overall amount of the cosmetic.
