A composition and a process for modifying hair are disclosed. The process includes coating hair fibers with a composition comprising propylene carbonate and a glycol selected from at least one of propylene glycol, 1,3-propane diol, dipropylene glycol, tripropylene glycol, and mixtures thereof and contacting the coated hair with a heating appliance at a temperature of at least 150° C. for a sufficient time to modify the hair fibers.

A hair color retouch kit, components of the kit, and methods of use and doing business. The kit can include one or more mixing containers. In one embodiment, a mixing container provides a colorant compartment for sealingly or separately containing a custom hair coloring formulation and peroxide compartment for sealingly or separately containing peroxide. The multi-chamber tube package can be a tube-in-tube package with an outer tube with an outer chamber that contains a conditioning composition and an inner tube with an inner chamber that contains a warming composition. The inner chamber is fluidly connected to one or more central orifices by an inner nozzle channel and the outer channel is fluidly connected to one or more outer orifices by an outer channel. The ratio of the area of the central orifice(s) to the outer orifice(s) can be greater than 1. The ratios can help the product dispense as a single stream with two visible phases, which has been found to prompt the consumer to intuitively mix the composition, thereby activating a warming sensation.

In certain embodiments the dental varnish system comprises a first component that is a dry powder, said first component comprising a an antimicrobial peptide, with or without a fluoride, and a bulking agent, and a second component that is a fluid, said second component comprising a varnish solution, where combination of said first component with said second component provides a varnish formulation for application to the surface of a tooth.

Methods and kits for treating hair or preventing damage in the relaxing of hair are disclosed herein. Hair that is damaged during a relaxing treatment with hydroxide-containing relaxing agents, can be treated with formulations containing one or more active agents. The active agent formulations can be applied simultaneously with the hair relaxing formulation, or optionally applied immediately following application of the relaxing formulation, to reduce damage and breakage. Use of the active agent formulation along with a relaxing treatment can be used to control the level of curl achieved or retained in the relaxed hair, as compared to the natural amount of curl in the untreated hair.

The present invention is directed to the provision of a kit-of-parts, a dyeing composition, and a method for dyeing keratin fibres. The kit comprises separate compositions A and B and optionally separate composition C. Composition A comprises a direct dye and an alkalising agent. The aqueous composition B comprises guanidine and/or its salts together with one or more lipophilic compounds and/or one or more thickening polymers. Composition C comprises a persalt and/or persulfate salt. A method for dyeing keratin fibres comprises mixing compositions A and B, and optionally C, to yield a ready-to-use composition with pH in the range of 7 to 12. Composition B may be used for enhancing colour intensity and/or wash fastness of a direct dye on keratin fibres with the provision that it is mixed with composition A directly prior to application.
