A system includes a sensor applicator, a sensor control device arranged within the sensor applicator and including an electronics housing and a sensor extending from a bottom of the electronics housing, and a cap coupled to one of the sensor applicator and the sensor control device, wherein the cap is removable prior to deploying the sensor control device from the sensor applicator.
System and Method for Ultra-Close Proximity Irradiation of Rotating Biomass
An irradiation system is provided which comprises a cabinet housing one or more X-ray tubes providing an irradiation source for a biomass contained within a cylindrical container arranged on a rotating device. The X-ray tubes generate directional X-ray beams and are provided in ultra-close proximity to the container, and the X-ray tubes can be configured to traverse the container. The rotational movement and traversal during the irradiation process ensure a more even irradiation of the entire biomass in the container.
Phosphor composition having selected surface coatings
A method and a system for producing a change in a medium. The method places in a vicinity of the medium an energy modulation agent. The method applies an initiation energy to the medium. The initiation energy interacts with the energy modulation agent to directly or indirectly produce the change in the medium. The energy modulation agent has a normal predominant emission of radiation in a first wavelength range outside of a second wavelength range (WR2) known to produce the change, but under exposure to the applied initiation energy produces the change. The system includes an initiation energy source configured to apply an initiation energy to the medium to activate the energy modulation agent.
Modular powered surgical instrument with detachable shaft assemblies
An interchangeable shaft assembly for a surgical instrument that includes first and second drive systems. The interchangeable shaft assembly is configured for removable attachment to a housing of the surgical instrument. Various embodiments include a latch system that enables the interchangeable shaft assembly to be detached from the housing when the first drive system is unactuated but prevents the interchangeable shaft assembly from being detached from the housing when the first drive system is in an actuated position.
CONTAINER FOR STORING A DENTAL, ESPECIALLY ENDODONTIC INSTRUMENT, KIT AND METHOD
The present invention relates to a kit comprising
an endodontic instrument in the form of an endodontic file and
a container with a lower container part, for receiving the working section (3c) of the endodontic instrument, and an upper container part, for receiving the upper axial end region of the instrument,
wherein a holder is provided on the upper side of the lower container part, which holder comprises an axial through-opening through which the working section of the instrument is inserted into the lower container part and in which the instrument, in particular the tool shaft of the instrument, is fixed in a clamping manner,
wherein the upper container part is connected with the lower container part in an airtight manner to form the container, and the interior of the container and the instrument are sterile.
Radio frequency identification monitoring of stents
A method and system of monitoring environmental exposure of stents using radiofrequency identification is disclosed.
Cleaning system for an image plate readout device
A method of disinfecting a readout device having a reader unit that reads an imaging medium, the method comprising: identifying an absence of the imaging medium from the inside of the readout device; and emitting, from a disinfecting element, radiation capable of destroying disease carriers onto an the interior of the readout device when the imaging medium is absent from inside the readout device.
BODY FLUID DRAINAGE DEVICE AND METHOD
Method for sterilising a body fluid drainage system for handling a body fluid ex vivo. The body fluid drainage system comprises a chamber. The method comprises the steps providing a container containing a surface protective fluid to be released into the chamber of the body fluid drainage system, subjecting the container to radiation sterilisation, inserting the container into the chamber of the body fluid drainage system, and subjecting the chamber containing the container to gas sterilisation. A body fluid drainage system for handling a body fluid ex vivo. The body fluid drainage system comprises a chamber. The body fluid drainage system further comprises a container containing a surface protective fluid. The container is arranged to release the surface protective fluid into the chamber. The surface protective fluid is sterilised by radiation sterilisation. An outer surface of the container and at least the chamber of the body fluid drainage system is sterilised by gas sterilisation.
X-RAY INSECT IRRADIATOR
Packages of insects are attached to a carrier cylinder and the cylinder is rotated in a radiation field so that the packaged insects are sterilized. The radiation field is created by a plurality of x-ray tubes mounted above the carrier cylinder. The tubes (and their respective radiation sources) are positioned so that a consistent radiation dosage is delivered at the surface of the cylinder—thereby imparting both a precise and uniform dose of radiation to the insect packages affixed to the surface of the cylinder.
SUPPORTED X-RAY HORN FOR CONTROLLING E-BEAMS
A magnetic apparatus and a method of operating the magnetic apparatus can include a scanning electromagnet that redirects a beam of charged particles, a vacuum chamber that prevents the atmosphere from interfering with the charged particles, and, a parallelizing permanent magnet array for parallelizing the beam of charged particles. The parallelizing permanent magnet array can be located proximate to a target comprising a Bremsstrahlung target or an object that is being irradiated. The magnetic field of the scanning electromagnet can be variable to produce all angles necessary to sweep the beam of charged particles across the target and the parallelizing permanent magnet array can be configured from a magnetic material that does not require an electric current.
