Single Diode Disinfection

Methods, systems, and devices for inactivating microorganisms are disclosed. An example light emitting device that inactivates microorganisms on a surface comprises a light emitter configured to emit a first light comprising a first wavelength in a range of 380 nanometers (nm) to 420 nm, a first light-converting material configured to convert a first portion of the first light to at least a second light comprising a second wavelength different from the first wavelength, and a second light-converting material configured to convert a second portion of the first light to at least a third light comprising a third wavelength different from the first wavelength, wherein at least the first light, the second light, and the third light mix to form a disinfecting white light, wherein the first light makes up at least 10% of the disinfecting white light.

FOCUSED STERILIZATION AND STERILIZED SUB-ASSEMBLIES FOR ANALYTE MONITORING SYSTEMS

A system includes a sensor applicator, a sensor control device arranged within the sensor applicator and including an electronics housing and a sensor extending from a bottom of the electronics housing, and a cap coupled to one of the sensor applicator and the sensor control device, wherein the cap is removable prior to deploying the sensor control device from the sensor applicator.

PHOSPHOR COMPOSITION HAVING SELECTED SURFACE COATINGS

A method and a system for producing a change in a medium. The method places in a vicinity of the medium an energy modulation agent. The method applies an initiation energy to the medium. The initiation energy interacts with the energy modulation agent to directly or indirectly produce the change in the medium. The energy modulation agent has a normal predominant emission of radiation in a first wavelength range outside of a second wavelength range (WR2) known to produce the change, but under exposure to the applied initiation energy produces the change. The system includes an initiation energy source configured to apply an initiation energy to the medium to activate the energy modulation agent.

Recovery method for organic acid, and production method for recycled pulp

The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a recovery method for an organic acid. The recovery method makes it possible to efficiently recover an organic acid that is included in a deactivating aqueous solution that includes excrement. This recovery method has the following features. A method for recovering an organic acid that deactivates a highly water-absorbent polymer that is included in used absorbent articles, the method being characterized by including: a deactivation step (S1) in which the highly water-absorbent polymer is immersed in a deactivating aqueous solution that includes an organic acid and has a prescribed pH and the highly water-absorbent polymer is deactivated; a highly water-absorbent polymer removal step (S2) in which the deactivated highly water-absorbent polymer is removed from the deactivating aqueous solution; a pH adjustment step (S3) in which the deactivating aqueous solution is adjusted to a prescribed pH; a concentration step (S4) in which the deactivation step (S1), the highly water-absorbent polymer removal step (S2), and the pH adjustment step (S3) are repeated using deactivating aqueous solution that has gone through the pH adjustment step (S3) and the organic acid in the deactivating aqueous solution is concentrated; and an organic acid recovery step (S6) in which the organic acid is recovered from the deactivating aqueous solution.

System and a method for irradiating an object
20210138504 · 2021-05-13 ·

A system and a method for irradiating an object and potentially for controlling the irradiation or other conditions relating to an effect of the irradiation. A sensor is translated along a longitudinal direction of the radiation emitter and in a space between the radiation emitter and the objects irradiated to arrive at information relating to a parameter relating to the effect of the irradiation, such as the radiation, and derived in the space between the radiation emitter and the objects irradiated. Calibrating the sensor readings and adjusting the radiating emitter output, thereby controlling the irradiation.
