A variety of methods, controllers and electric machine systems are described that facilitate pulsed control of electric machines to improve the energy efficiency of the electric machine when conditions warrant. Selected transitions between pulsing output levels are controlled to provide a cubic or higher order transition torque profile. In various implementations, cubic, quintic or higher order transition profiles are use. The use of such transition torque profiles can improve NVH characteristics of the electric machine while providing energy efficient pulse transitions.

VIBRATION SUPPRESSION METHOD FOR SERVO MOTOR AND LOAD MULTISTAGE DRIVE SYSTEM

A vibration suppression method for a servo motor and a load multistage drive system is provided. For a number N of fixed vibration frequencies and one vibration frequency varying with a load position existing in a multistage drive mechanism, a number of N+1 vibration suppression filters are adopted, and each filter is configured to eliminate a corresponding vibration frequency. Fixed vibration frequencies and a vibration frequency varying with a load position in a multistage drive system are measured by using an offline method, and the varied vibration frequencies are made into a two-dimensional table related to the load positions. The fixed vibration frequencies are eliminated by using fixed-frequency parameter vibration suppression filters; and the varied vibration frequencies are eliminated by using a variable-frequency parameter vibration suppression filter, and the vibration frequencies are obtained in real time according to the load positions and the two-dimensional table.

An electric motor controlling system used for vibration suppression of an electric vehicle is disclosed. The controlling system includes a PID-controller and a vibration suppression compensator. The PID-controller generates a basic torque command through performing a calculation based on input speed-error signal of the electric vehicle, the vibration suppression compensator generates a compensated torque command through performing a compensation gain procedure on the input speed-error signal. The vibration suppression compensator further receives a motor speed of the electric vehicle, sets its output as the compensated torque command when the motor speed is smaller than a preset active speed level, otherwise sets the output as 0. The controlling system generates an output torque command via adding up the basic torque command and the output of the vibration suppression compensator, and operates electric motor components of the electric vehicle according to the output torque command.
