TREATMENT METHOD FOR RADIATION STERILIZATION OF CONTAINERS MADE FROM THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL
The invention proposes a treatment method for the sterilization by irradiation of containers made of thermoplastic material. The method comprises at least an initial step of modification of the pitch consisting in selectively varying the initial pitch between two consecutive containers to increase the irradiation time of each container. The method also comprises an irradiation step consisting in irradiating each container from the outside with an electron beam emitted by at least one emitter of a sterilization device.
SHIELDING STRUCTURE
A shielding structure of an object sterilized by radiation. The object is a housing that accommodates an accommodated object therein and is formed of a shielding material that shields the radiation and secondary radiation that has a higher transparency than the radiation and is secondarily generated by the radiation, an exterior of the housing is sterilized by the radiation, and the radiation and the secondary radiation do not penetrate through the accommodated object.
METHODS FOR PASTEURIZING AND/OR STERILIZING PARTICULATE GOODS
Methods for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate goods (1), containing the following steps: a) producing an electron beam (5), b) pasteurizing and/or sterilizing the goods (1) by the electron beam (5) in a treatment zone (3), wherein the electrons of the electron beam (5) have an energy that lies in the range of 80 keV to 300 keV, preferably from 140 keV to 280 keV, and more preferably from 180 keV to 260 keV, the goods (1) are exposed to the electron beam (5) for a treatment time which lies in the range from 5 ms to 25 ms, and the electron beam (5) has a mean electron current density in the treatment zone (3) which lies in the range of 10.sup.15 s.sup.−1.Math.cm.sup.−2 to 2.77.Math.10.sup.15 s.sup.−1.Math.cm.sup.−2.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
A system and method for adoption and use of social personal protective equipment. A structure, such as an article of clothing or jewelry, incorporates one or more PPE features and produces a protective, non-physical barrier around the user that kills or degrades a targeted, or group of, pathogenic microorganisms.
Devices and methods for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate material, and cartridge
A devices (10) and method for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate material. The device contain at least one electron source (20) for generating an electron beam and a treatment zone (19) in which the material is pasteurized and/or sterilized by the electron beam. The device (10) comprises a vibration surface (11) which vibrates to convey and individualize the material. The first vibration surface (11) has a plurality of grooves (12) into which the material is conveyed and individualized. The device (10) has a material channel (21) in which the material is pasteurized and/or sterilized by the electron beam in the region of the treatment zone (19). The device (10) has at least one auxiliary channel (22) through which a fluid flows, between the electron source (20) and the material channel (21), and is separated from the material channel (21). A cartridge (24) for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate material is also disclosed.
Systems and approaches for sterilizing a drug delivery device
A shielding member for use in sterilizing drug container assemblies includes a housing. The housing includes a first shielding portion and a second shielding portion. The first shielding portion includes a first and second surfaces and a plurality of first bore portions extending between. The second shielding portion having a first and second surfaces and a plurality of second bore portions corresponding to and aligned with the plurality of first bore portions. The first and second bore portions cooperate to form a plurality of receptacles including a plurality of openings in the first surface of the first shielding portion of the housing. The receptacles are sized and configured to receive drug container assemblies, each comprising a container with a container contact region and a seal member disposed adjacent the container contact region to seal the contents of the container at a sealing interface, such that each drug container assembly is exposed out of the housing through one of the openings.
METHOD FOR STERILIZING FLEXIBLE BAGS
A sterilization method includes irradiating flexible bags, in particular, bags of the type that can contain solutions of human plasma proteins for therapeutic use. The sterilization method includes electron beam irradiation. An in-line method for filling flexible bags of the type that can contain solutions of human plasma proteins for therapeutic use can use the sterilization method.
Sodium Chlorite Compositions with Enhanced Anti-Viral and Anti-Microbial Efficacy and Reduced Toxicity
Methods of treating a subject for a microbial eye condition are provided. Aspects of the methods include administering to the subject an activated sodium chlorite composition, where the compositions include sodium chlorite; and a buffer component prepared from sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate and citric acid. Also provided are methods of inhibiting a virus associated with a tissue, such as an adenovirus or coronavirus. In addition, delivery devices for administering an activated sodium chlorite composition to a tissue are provided.
Energy curable compositions comprising polyols
Energy curable compositions including polyols, and any blend of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and oligomers. The polyols of the invention are essentially free of any ethylenically unsaturated groups. It is preferred that the polyol substances according to the invention have greater than one hydroxy group and preferably have boiling points in excess of 170° C. The compositions of the invention are particularly useful for the printing or coating of food packaging and may be applied via any printing or coating method, although inkjet printing is a preferred method.
A FACE SHIELD, PATIENT INTERFACE AND RELATED METHODS AND USES THEREOF
A face shield, patient interface and methods of use thereof are described for improved respiratory therapy of patients. In particular, a face shield is disclosed that acts as a seal when used with a patient interface. The face shield may be manufactured from a low melt temperature hard thermoplastic material. The face shield may be formed initially formed to match the general contours of the face, but not customised to a specific user's face. The face shield may be crosslinked to provide shape memory to the seal and to improve its handling properties and is configured to be thermoformed to a user's face. The face shield may be customised to the patient's facial features to a second customised shape.
