MOTOR CONTROL DEVICE AND MOTOR CONTROL METHOD

Provided is a motor control device capable of appropriately achieving both low loss and low NV in a scene where a plurality of surrounding environments and a plurality of vehicle states overlap. The motor control device is connected to an AC motor and PWM-controls a power converter that performs power conversion from DC power to AC power. The motor control device includes: a plurality of PWM pulse patterns; a pulse pattern determination unit that sets a pulse pattern for performing the PWM control; an evaluation unit that determines a priority of a total loss of the AC motor and the power converter and vibration noise of the AC motor; and a loss/NV calculation unit that calculates a value of the total loss and a value of the vibration noise in torque and rotation speed for each pulse pattern. The evaluation unit determines the priority on the basis of a parameter regarding at least one of a surrounding environment, mode designation by intention of a driver, a remaining battery amount, a driving operation point, and a vehicle state, and the pulse pattern determination unit sets the pulse pattern by using the priority determined by the evaluation unit, the value of the total loss, and the vibration noise.

A motor drive device includes: an actual speed signal generator; a target speed signal generator; a speed comparator that compares an actual speed signal and a target speed signal; and a speed command generator that generates a speed command signal according to an output from the speed comparator. The speed command generator includes: a step width generator that generates, according to the output from the speed comparator, a step width signal indicating a step width including a size and a positive or negative sign that correspond to a magnitude of one of the actual speed or the target speed with respect to the other; an update signal generator that generates an update signal; and an accumulation calculator that adds the step width indicated by the step width signal to the speed command signal and outputs a resulting speed command signal, at a timing of the update signal.

Rotating electrical machine control device

A rotating electrical machine control device shifts a control system to synchronous five-pulse control when an operating point crosses a second boundary from a state in which asynchronous pulse-width modulation control is being executed, and shifts the control system to the asynchronous pulse-width modulation control when the operating point crosses a first boundary from a state in which the synchronous five-pulse control is being executed. The first boundary is set such that the number of switching pulses per unit rotational speed by the synchronous five-pulse control immediately before the operating point crosses the first boundary is smaller than the number of the switching pulses per unit rotational speed by the asynchronous pulse-width modulation control immediately after the operating point crosses the first boundary.

An electric machine controller arranged to direct a power converter to cause a pulsed operation of an electric machine in selected operational ranges to deliver a desired output and to cause a continuous operation of the electric machine in selected operational ranges is provided. A ramp generator is adapted to provide a ramping between the pulsed operation and the continuous operation. In some embodiments, the ramp generator utilizes a quadratic, cubic or higher order ramping function. In some embodiments, during a first portion of the transitional period, the ramp generator causes pulsing between a first ramped transitional torque level and a second ramped transitional torque level that is lower than the first transitional torque level, and during a second portion of the transitional period, the ramp generator causes the electric machine to generate substantially zero torque in intervals between transitional pulses while ramping the first ramped transitional torque level.

MOTOR DRIVER FOR SETTING DUTY CYCLES BASED ON TEMPERATURE

A motor driver for setting duty cycles based on a temperature is provided. The motor driver senses a temperature of an environment around a motor. The motor driver sets a duty cycle modulation value according to the sensed temperature, and modulates a preset duty cycle to form a startup duty cycle according to the duty cycle modulation value. The motor driver sets or modulates duty cycles of one or more waveforms of a startup signal to be equal to the startup duty cycle. The motor driver outputs the startup signal to the motor.
