Systems, circuits and methods for monitoring and dynamically configuring solar cells
A solar power system may comprise a back sheet that comprises an interconnect circuit coupling a plurality of cell tiles. A tiled solar cell, comprising a solar cell and encapsulating and glass layers, is inserted into the cell tiles of the back sheet. Each solar cell is individually addressable through the use of the interconnect circuit. Moreover, the interconnect circuit of the back sheet is programmable and allows for dynamic interconnect routing between solar cells.

An arc detection device includes a voltage detector connected between a first wire and a second wire to detect a voltage between the first wire and the second wire, the first wire connecting a positive electrode of a DC/DC converter and a plurality of DC/DC converters and branching from the positive electrode of the DC power source into the plurality of DC/DC converters, the second wire connecting a negative electrode of the DC/DC converter and the plurality of DC/DC converters and branching from the negative electrode of the DC/DC converter into the plurality of DC/DC converters; and an arc determiner that determines an occurrence of an arc based on the voltage detected by the voltage detector.
Parametric curve scanning method for photovoltaic string, converter, and photovoltaic power generation system
This application relates to a converter in a photovoltaic power generation system and a parametric curve scanning method for a photovoltaic string. A parametric curve includes a current-voltage curve or a power-voltage curve. The scanning method includes: controlling an output voltage of the photovoltaic string to change from a first endpoint voltage of a first voltage range to a second endpoint voltage of the first voltage range according to a first preset rule, to scan a first parametric curve; controlling the output voltage of the photovoltaic string to change from a third endpoint voltage of a second voltage range to a fourth endpoint voltage of the second voltage range according to a second preset rule, to scan a second parametric curve. There is an intersection set between the first voltage range and the second voltage range. In this application, whether a scanned curve is affected by a light change may be determined based on the first parametric curve and the second parametric curve. This is convenient and fast, and no additional hardware test device is required.
METHOD FOR BLACKENING AN ELECTRICAL CONDUIT
A method of removing a plurality of portions of a black layer of an electrical conduit for a photovoltaic cell is disclosed. The method includes providing a mandrel having the electrical conduit electroformed in the mandrel. The electrical conduit is formed in a preformed pattern on an outer surface of the mandrel. The electrical conduit has the black layer with a black layer thickness on a side opposite of the outer surface of the mandrel. A beam of a laser is controlled toward the black layer of the electrical conduit. The beam is characterized by laser parameters. The beam of the laser removes the plurality of portions of the black layer on the electrical conduit. Each removed portion of the plurality of portions of the black layer has a thickness equal to the black layer thickness, and a portion area of 5 mm.sup.2 to 20 mm.sup.2.
Photovoltaic system failure and alerting
A fault identification may be triggered by a component of a power generation system (PGS), such as a hardware component, a controller of a hardware component, a device of the PGS, a computer connected to the PGS, a computer configured to monitor the PGS, and/or the like. The fault identification may be the result of a failure of a component of the PGS, a future failure of a component of the PGS, a routine maintenance of the PGS, and/or the like. The fault is converted to a notification on a user interface using a mapping of faults, root-causes, notification rules, and/or the like. The conversion may use one or more lookup tables and/or formulas for determining the impact of the fault on the PGS, and/or the like.

Arc detection and prevention in a power generation system
Methods for arc detection in a system including one or more photovoltaic generators, one or more photovoltaic power devices and a system power device and/or a load connectible to the photovoltaic generators and/or the photovoltaic power devices. The methods may measure voltage, current, and/or power delivered to the load or system power device, and the methods may measure voltage noise or current noise within the photovoltaic system. The methods may periodically, and/or in response to detecting noise, reduce an electrical parameter such as current or voltage in order to extinguish an arc. The methods may compare one or more measurements to one or more thresholds to detect arcing, and upon a comparison indicating that arcing is or was present, an alarm condition may be set.
