Method and device for enhancing the reduction of pathogens, allergens and odor-causing agents
Disclosed are methods and apparatus that help reduce and prevent infection by controlling and/or reducing the level of contaminants, which include pathogens, allergens and/or odor-causing agents including VOCs. Photocatalytic oxidation is performed in a high humidity environment so that hydrogen peroxide molecules are readily produced.
ION WIND GENERATION DEVICE
Provided is an ion wind generation device which is capable of providing a wide range of ion delivery and providing ion wind having a reduced ozone concentration near a nozzle without use of a filter or the like.
The ion wind generation device includes an electrode pair including a discharge electrode body having a discharge portion and a counter electrode body having a plurality of end portions, and generates ion wind by corona discharge that occurs due to a potential difference generated between the discharge portion and the end portions. The end portions are located spaced apart from one another in a single plane and disposed around an axis of the discharge electrode body in the single plane or disposed along a line in the single plane.
Arthropod Repellent or Attractant Liquid Reservoir with Fill Indicator
A progressive liquid fill capacity indicator located inside a vapor diffusion membrane liquid reservoir that utilizes index refraction matching of liquid contact to components, dyes, and surface tension gradients. This fill capacity indicator is low cost and reliable. It enables users to visually assess readiness and remaining liquid capacity to deliver attraction, masking, and repulsion scent vapors from wearable and stationary devices to repel or attract mosquitos and arthropods.
Method for manufacturing a medium for purifying fluids containing toxic compounds
A medium for purifying fluids containing toxic compounds can be made by a method which comprises applying a dispersion of a halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine in an inert liquid carrier to the surface of a substrate having a high surface area and allowing the inert liquid carrier to penetrate into the substrate, wherein the inert liquid carried does not react with halogen atoms in the halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine, wherein the halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine is capable of destroying the toxic compound by oxidative action, and wherein the halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine becomes deposited on the surface of the substrate after the inert liquid carrier penetrates into the substrate.
Non-contact microplasma ozonized mist radical sterilizer
The present invention relates to a non-contact microplasma ozonized mist radical sterilizer. The present invention minimizes two discharge spaces to a micro size to lower a breakdown voltage, concentrates electromagnetic fields using micro-patterns to induce micro-discharge at a normal pressure, and generates plasma through glow discharge, to increase electron density and reduce power consumption according to generation of microplasma. When oxygen and air are injected as reaction gases using this principle, ozone is generated as active species, and the generated ozone is used for various purposes such as removing pests, reducing ethylene, and sterilizing harmful bacteria. Sterilization is improved by sterilizing air and generating mist using ozone generated from microplasma, and then decomposition and drying of ozone gas are performed using a heat generation device and a catalytic method.
Systems and methods for correlating indoor air quality data and trends to pathogen remediation
An indoor air quality (IAQ) control system for a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) system including an IAQ monitor that collects air quality data from an air quality sensor of an air quality-controlled space; a controller that manages a remediation device of the air quality-controlled space; and an IAQ management server that generates a biological pollutant estimate based on the air quality data using an algorithm that correlates the air quality data to the biological pollutant estimate, and generates a remediation recommendation. Additionally, a control method includes collecting air quality data from an air quality sensor of an air quality-controlled space using an IAQ monitor; managing a remediation device of the air quality-controlled space using a controller; generating a biological pollutant estimate based on the air quality data using an algorithm that correlates the air quality data to the biological pollutant estimate; and generating a remediation recommendation.
ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL FOR GAS-PHASE REACTANT IN LIQUID ENVIRONMENT
The invention is directed to an electrochemical cell for production of chemicals from a gas-phase reactant in a liquid environment. The electrochemical cell has a membrane electrode assembly configuration and is comprised of an anode, an ion exchange membrane and a cathode. The membrane electrode assembly is in direct contact with a liquid solution to facilitate extraction and handling of the produced chemicals, and the gas reactant is delivered through the liquid to the membrane electrode assembly. The present invention relates to a process and electrochemical cell for use in the synthesis of chemicals. The present invention relates to the electrocatalysts used and their incorporation into a membrane electrode assembly, MEA. The present invention also relates to the electrodes used in a membrane electrode assembly, in particular the gas diffusion layer, and a method for transport of gas-phase reactants into a liquid-immersed membrane electrode assembly.
Treated Membrane for Fragrance Delivery
A treated vapor permeable microporous membrane includes: a microporous membrane having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The membrane includes a thermoplastic organic polymer having a polyolefin. The membrane defines a network of interconnecting pores communicating substantially throughout the membrane. The treated membrane further includes finely divided, particulate filler distributed throughout the membrane and a first hydrophobic/oleophobic material over at least a portion of the first side. A method of preparing the treated vapor permeable microporous membrane is also disclosed.
SYSTEM FOR TREATING EMISSIONS FROM A VEHICLE
A system for treating emissions from a vehicle includes an ozone generator, a first holding tank, and an exhaust vent. The first holding tank is downstream from the ozone generator and defines a volume for liquid waste beneath a void space. The exhaust vent is downstream from the first holding tank and outside of the vehicle. A supply conduit connects the ozone generator to the void space of the first holding tank. An exhaust conduit connects the void space of the first holding tank to the exhaust vent. The ozone generator, supply conduit, void space of the first holding tank, exhaust conduit, and exhaust vent establish a thermal driving head from the ozone generator through the void space of the first holding tank to the exhaust vent.
