SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DISINFECTION
A light fixture is provided to be disposed within a room and operable to provide visible light for the room and air disinfection via application of UV light to air flowing through an air treatment chamber. In one embodiment, one or more baffles may be disposed within the air chamber to substantially prevent UV light from leaking past the one or more baffles into the room. In one embodiment, a UV light regulator may be provided to selectively control an amount of UV light directed into the room.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFELY IRRADICATING PATHOGENS
A system for eradicating pathogens is disclosed. A lamp is provided that emits a far-ultraviolet C (far-UVC) light generates an irradiation zone. A biometric sensor determines whether an individual is present in the irradiation zone. The biometric sensor signals a processor to determine whether the individual has been exposed to a threshold limit of far-UVC light. The processor determines whether the time an individual has been in the irradiation zone exceeds a threshold limit. If the individual has been in the irradiation zone a period of time exceeds the threshold, the lamp is deactivated. A pathogen detection sensor provides user feedback of the existence pathogens and signals the processor to terminate irradiation or provide user feedback to terminate irradiation. The system and method are included in a passenger compartment of a vehicle to eradicate pathogens on surfaces and aerosol. Threshold limits allow eradication while the vehicle is occupied.

An apparatus for inactivating bioaerosol, comprising an enclosure having lumen walls forming a lumen, said lumen having a lumen input opening and a lumen output opening; a ventilator arranged for forcing an air flow through said lumen; in a cleaning section of said lumen, a source of ultraviolet light arranged to irradiate with ultraviolet light all the air passing through said lumen along a length of said cleaning section; an output muffler arranged for reducing a noise of said air flow in output of said lumen output opening; and a downstream turn section of said lumen, downstream said cleaning section of said lumen, arranged for changing a direction of said air flow such that no ultraviolet light in said cleaning section of said lumen is detectable at said lumen output opening.

OPTICAL SYSTEM FOR FACILITATING OPTICAL DISINFECTION AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION
An optical system includes a plurality of laser light sources and an optical component. A first set of one or more laser light sources is configured to emit optical disinfection light at the optical component. A second set of one or more laser light sources is configured to emit optical communication light at the optical component. The optical component is configured to distribute the optical disinfection light in a first light distribution pattern, and to distribute the optical communication light in a second light distribution pattern. The optical component includes a first set of one or more metamaterial structures configured to distribute, in the first light distribution pattern, the optical disinfection light that is incident on the optical component, and a second set of one or more metamaterial structures configured to distribute, in the second light distribution pattern, the optical communication light that is incident on the optical component.
READILY INTERCHANGEABLE LIGHT MODIFIER FOR A UV C FIXTURE
A UV C light source including a UV C bulb adapted to emit and project UV C light at a wavelength and an interchangeable UV C light modifier through which at least a portion of the UV C light emitted from said UV C bulb is projected. The UV C light modifier may be reflective, such as a reflector, perforated, holographic material, or mechanical modifier such as a barn door. The UV C light modifier might produce a narrow pattern, circular pattern, flat pattern, or asymmetrical pattern or other desired geometric pattern, or upper air pattern. The UV C light modifier is easily removed and interchanged or may be selectable such as by receiving a base UV C fixture including the UV C light source of the present invention and selecting a desired light modifier.
Portable illumination apparatus having stertlizing function
A portable illumination apparatus having a sterilizing function, the illumination apparatus including: a lamp unit which includes an illuminating light element on an interior side of the lamp unit; a base coupled to the lamp unit by a hinge; and a sterilizing light element located on the interior side of the lamp unit. When the lamp unit is in a closed position with the base, the lamp unit and the base meet at a boundary section to form a cylinder with a top and a bottom. Also, the boundary section is substantially mirror-symmetrical and at least partially U-shaped such that the lamp unit has a longest height line and a shortest height line. Additionally, the illuminating light element is arranged on or along the longest height line and the hinge is formed about the shortest height line.
Apparatus, method, and system for selectively effecting and/or killing bacteria
Certain exemplary embodiments can provide an apparatus and method for generating at least one radiation. The exemplary apparatus and/or method can selectively kill and/or affect at least one bacteria. For example, a radiation source first arrangement can be provided which is configured to generate at least one radiation having one or more wavelengths provided in a range of about 190 nanometers (nm) to about 230 nm, and at least one second arrangement can be provided which is configured to prevent the at least one radiation from having any wavelength that is outside of the range.
