ADJUSTABLE EXTERNAL FIXING BRACE
A medical fixing brace, which is characterized in that it is a mesh-shaped plate provided with several large ventilation openings and injection molded from a shape memory material. On both the front and rear surfaces of each side of the mesh plate in proximity to the transverse edges, several mounting holes used for connecting an engaging fitting apparatus are provided symmetrically along the plate-shape structure, or several mounting holes for connecting an engaging fitting are provided on at least one surface. The thickness of the mesh-shaped plate are thinned at the mounting holes; and, provided within the mounting holes are some parts for mounting the engaging fitting apparatus. The fixing brace has no coating layer, allows with the large hole structure thereof the direct viewing of condition changes, and prevents the occurrence of post-traumatic complications; clamping tightness can be adjusted throughout a treatment, compression on soft tissues is maintained, and fixing effects are great; the fixing brace can be used on either the left or right, operation is simple for a physician. The material used for the fixing brace is nonabsorbent and has no padding structure, dries quickly after shower, provides great comfort, prevents the occurrence of itchiness and dermatitis. This is applicable in externally fixing body parts such as the upper limb, the neck, the chest, the waist, and the lower limb.

CAST FOR PATIENT HAVING FRACTURE AND FOR PROTECTING AFFECTED AREA OF DIABETIC PATIENT
Proposed is an improved cast used for covering an affected area of a patient having a fracture or dislocation or diabetic patient to keep the continuity of the affected area and the unaffected area, and to protect the affected area from external shock.
Limb immobilization device
The invention provides a limb immobilization device, being an immobilization device having a thermoplastic fixation plate capable of being shaped on a patient by covering a limb portion of the patient to support and/or immobilize that portion of the patient. The limb immobilization device has high air permeability and may replace or assist in use of the traditional plaster cast. The thermoplastic fixation plate is a laminate comprising a soft cloth and a first spacer fabric having a coating layer thereon.
Rapid setting composite article
Methods of using fiber-reinforced composite articles useful in supporting or immobilizing an injured body part is disclosed. The composite is a multi-layer, flexible precursor including fiber reinforcement plies, which can be rapidly cured into a rigid body using a thermosetting resin. Methods of making and using the same are also disclosed, along with kits containing such composite articles.

ELECTRONICALLY-ACTIVATED, SELF-MOLDING AND RE-SHAPEABLE LOAD-BEARING SUPPORT STRUCTURE SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR MOLDING THEREOF
The present invention provides an electronically-activated, self-molding and re-shapeable load-bearing support structure system includes a first composite structure which includes a first layer of a first thermally-responsive polymer; one or more first heating elements positioned adjacent to the first layer on a first heating element side; a second layer of the first thermally-responsive polymer positioned adjacent to the one or more first heating elements on a second heating element side; a temperature sensor communicating with at least the first layer or the second layer of the first thermally-responsive polymer; one or more electrical connectors electrically communicating with the one or more heating elements; and an electrical controller detachably connectable to at least one of the one or more electrical connectors of the composite for providing an electrical current to the one or more heating elements. A method of molding the load-bearing support structure system is also provided.
Enhanced medical dressing apparatus, system, and method
An enhanced medical dressing for treatment of wounds is provided. A dressing is augmented by one or more enhancers thereon. The enhancers include a collagen, an antibiotic, or both. The enhanced medical dressing is prepared by placing and mixing the collagen, the antibiotic, and the dressing within a container. On mixing, the enhanced medical dressing is formed such that the enhancer adheres to the dressing by, for example, adsorption or an electrostatic force. The enhanced medical dressing when applied to the wound causes the collagen and the antibiotic to be released into the wound. Further, the enhanced medical dressing degrades over time due to contact with physiological moisture.
