MULTI-LAYER ADHESIVE TAPE TO COMPRESS AND CONTRACT A SCAR
The current invention concerns a multi-layer adhesive tape to compress and contract one or more scars, comprising: a top layer; a bonding layer adjacent to said top layer; a bottom layer adjacent to said bonding layer and opposite to said top layer; an adhesive layer adjacent to said flexible bottom layer and opposite to said bonding layer; and a first peelable liner at least adjacent to said adhesive layer and opposite to said bottom layer, wherein the widths of said top layer and bonding layer are larger than the widths of said bottom layer and adhesive layer, and wherein said adhesive layer comprises a rubber- or acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesive. The invention further concerns a multi-layer adhesive tape to compress and contract one or more scars, wherein said top layer has a thickness between 20 and 1100 μm.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING CREEP PERFORMANCE IN ELASTIC APPLICATIONS
A method and system of using a polyolefin-based, hot melt adhesive improves creep performance of elastic strands adhered to another substrate. Some deflection, greater than 1°, of the exit angle formed by a line normal to the axis of a neutrally-positioned applicator and the elastic strand extending from the applicator is introduced. Preferably, deflection of the entrance angle is also introduced and a head tilt angle is also provided. The use of deflection improves creep performance or allows for a reduced amount of adhesive to be used to achieve the same or similar creep performance. The elastic strands may be used to form a leg cuff in personal care products, such as diapers, and the substrate to which they are applied could be a polyethylene film or non-woven materials.
TAMPON WITH CONSOLIDATED FIBROUS ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MAKING
The present disclosure describes a tampon article, a composite fibrous web, and a method of making same. Such an article includes an outer carrier component including an inner surface that defines an internal void. Including an absorbent component elongate along an axis and is disposed in the internal void. The absorbent component includes an outer surface that extends about the axis and faces the inner surface. The absorbent component further includes a composite fibrous web of staple cellulosic fibers and a meltspun web of filaments entangled with the web of staple cellulosic fibers. The composite fibrous web can be in a compressed configuration in the internal void such that at least portion of the outer surface of the absorbent component is defined by the meltspun web of filaments. The tampon can include a withdrawal cord coupled to the absorbent component.
FIBRINOGEN COMPRISING FORMULATION AND USES THEREOF
The invention relates to compositions comprised of albumin and clottable proteins including fibrinogen and to use thereof e.g., for treating bleeding. In particular, the compositions are comprised of albumin and one or more clottable proteins, wherein the albumin and the one or more clottable proteins are present at a total concentration of at least 90% by total protein weight, wherein the clottable protein fibronectin is present at an amount of less than about 0.5% by total protein weight or is absent, and wherein the weight ratio of the albumin to the clottable protein fibrinogen is at least 1:15, respectively.
FIBRINOGEN COMPRISING FORMULATION AND USES THEREOF
The invention relates to compositions comprised of albumin and clottable proteins including fibrinogen and to use thereof e.g., for treating bleeding. In particular, the compositions are comprised of albumin and one or more clottable proteins, wherein the albumin and the one or more clottable proteins are present at a total concentration of at least 90% by total protein weight, wherein the clottable protein fibronectin is present at an amount of less than about 0.5% by total protein weight or is absent, and wherein the weight ratio of the albumin to the clottable protein fibrinogen is at least 1:15, respectively.
ANTIMICROBIAL DRESSING
Provided is an antimicrobial dressing, which includes: a first cover member having a plurality of pores formed therein and contacting a wound; an antimicrobial membrane that is made by accumulating nanofibers containing a water-soluble polymer that is dissolved in an exudate secreted from the wound, a water-insoluble polymer, and an antimicrobial substance released due to dissolution of the water-soluble polymer, the antimicrobial membrane being laminated on the first cover member and having a plurality of pores formed therein; and a second cover member laminated on the antimicrobial membrane and having a plurality of pores formed therein and exposed to an external air.

and in that hydrophilic state of hydrophilic copolymer is dependent on ionisation of said ionisable groups, moieties or monomers; kit and device comprising the material and process for preparation thereof; and use in detecting or sensing microbes or pH.

The invention relates to freeze-dried compositions comprising a) at least one polymer based on polyacrylic acids and salts thereof, b) at least one natural polymer, c) optionally at least one further polymer which differs from a) and b) and d) optionally one or more active compounds and/or auxiliary substances. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of such freeze-dried compositions, the combination of such freeze-dried compositions in kit-of-parts arrangements together with aqueous solutions and the use of the freeze-dried compositions and of the kit-of-parts combinations for cosmetic and pharmaceutical use, in particular for use as a cosmetic mask or as a wound covering and for the preparation of pharmaceutical agents for treatment of dermal wounds, such as, in particular, chronic wounds, ulcus cruris or decubitus.
