Method and apparatus for changing the gain of a radio frequency signal
A method and electronic circuit for changing the gain of a radio frequency signal. The apparatus is an electronic circuit comprising one or more variable gain electronic elements, and one or more adjustable phase shifting elements. The method comprises the steps of receiving a radio frequency signal, varying the gain of the variable gain electronic element while the variable gain electronic element changes the amplitude of the radio frequency signal, and adjusting an adjustable phase shifting element to generate a reverse phase shift in the radio frequency signal in response to the associated phase shift from the step of varying the gain.

BANDWIDTH OPTIMIZATION FOR POWER AMPLIFIER POWER SUPPLIES
Circuitry, which includes a PA power supply and RF PA circuitry, is disclosed. The RF PA circuitry includes a group of RF PAs and a group of PA decoupling circuits. The group of RF PAs includes a first RF PA and a second RF PA. The group of PA decoupling circuits includes a first PA decoupling circuit and a second PA decoupling circuit. The PA power supply provides a first PA power supply output signal to at least one of the group of RF PAs and to at least one of the group of PA decoupling circuits. The first PA decoupling circuit is coupled across the first RF PA, is programmable, and at least partially decouples the first RF PA from other circuitry. The second PA decoupling circuit is coupled across the second RF PA and at least partially decouples the second RF PA from other circuitry.
CIRCUITS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING POWER AMPLIFIERS
Circuits and methods for controlling power amplifiers. In some embodiments, a power amplification system can include a first amplification stage configured to operate with a first bias signal, and a second amplification stage configured operate with a second bias signal. The power amplification system can further include a control circuit coupled to the first amplification stage and the second amplification stage. The control circuit can be configured to generate the first bias signal based on the second bias signal. Such a first bias signal can result in the first stage having a gain profile that compensates for either or both of a gain expansion and gain compression of the second amplification stage.

Digital automatic gain control
Systems, devices, and methods are provided to inhibit apparent amplitude modulation in non-linear processing that causes distortion in a processed signal. One aspect of the invention includes a hearing aid. The hearing aid includes a microphone to receive an input signal, a speaker to reproduce the input signal, and a processor. The processor processes the input signal using a gain. The processor includes an inhibitor, which inhibits distortions, and an adjuster, which adjusts the gain. The inhibitor acts to smooth an envelope of the input signal to inhibit undesired modulation. The adjuster adjusts the gain if the envelope is either above or below a threshold.
