Medical devices and implements with liquid-impregnated surfaces
Described herein are medical devices and medical implements with high lubricity to flesh (or biological fluid) and/or inhibited nucleation on its surface. The device has a surface comprising an impregnating liquid and a plurality of micro-scale and/or nano-scale solid features spaced sufficiently close to stably contain the impregnating liquid therebetween. The impregnating liquid fills spaces between said solid features, the surface stably contains the impregnating liquid between the solid features, and the impregnating liquid is substantially held in place between the plurality of solid features regardless of orientation of the surface.

OPTIMIZED COMPOSITION FOR INTERFACE DRESSING
The present invention relates to a composition which has a low affinity with respect to latex gloves, comprising a hydrophobic matrix, characterized in that said hydrophobic matrix comprises: for 100 parts by weight of a mixture P of 2 styrene-saturated olefin-styrene triblock copolymers, a first which has a viscosity of between 0.01 and 1 Pa.Math.s as measured in a 5% (weight/weight) solution in toluene and a second which has a viscosity of between 0.01 and 0.5 Pa.Math.s measured in a 15% (weight/weight) solution in toluene; from 300 to 1000 parts by weight of a plasticizer H, preferably a plasticizing oil; and from 90 to 600 parts by weight of petroleum jelly V;
it also being specified that: the total amount, represented by P+H+V, of the mixture of elastomers, of plasticizer and of petroleum jelly is between 490 and 1700 parts by weight; the ratio between the total amount of the mixture of elastomers, of plasticizer and of petroleum jelly and the amount of petroleum jelly, represented by P+H+V/V, is less than 11;
and said mixture of 2 copolymers comprises at least 20% by weight of the first copolymer.
The present invention also relates to an interface dressing with reinforcement, with a support or which is self-supported, which dressing comprises such a composition.
Absorbent article having a domed section and method of manufacturing same
An objective of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article with which, both when dry, prior to absorbing blood, and when wet, after absorbing blood, is provided with a fit in a wearer's excretory orifice, especially the labia minora, and which is not prone to leaking. Provided is an absorbent article, including a liquid-permeable top sheet, a non liquid-permeable back sheet, and an absorbent body between the liquid-permeable top sheet and the non liquid-permeable back sheet. The absorbent article further comprises a center high part which protrudes in the thickness direction of the absorbent article in an excretory orifice contact region. The center high part further includes a portion of the top sheet, and a cushion part which is positioned between the top sheet and the absorbent body. The center high part further includes a central part, and an outer circumference part which surrounds the central part. The density of the cushion part in the outer circumference part is greater than the density of the cushion part in the central part.

Containers, bottles, drums, vats, and tanks having a slippery surface
The present disclosure describes a strategy to create self-healing, slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces. Roughened (e.g., porous) surfaces can be utilized to lock in place a lubricating fluid, referred to herein as Liquid B to repel a wide range of materials, referred to herein as Object A (Solid A or Liquid A). Slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces outperforms other conventional surfaces in its capability to repel various simple and complex liquids (water, hydrocarbons, crude oil and blood), maintain low-contact-angle hysteresis (<2.5?), quickly restore liquid-repellency after physical damage (within 0.1-1 s), resist ice, microorganisms and insects adhesion, and function at high pressures (up to at least 690 atm). Some exemplary application where slippery liquid-infused porous surfaces will be useful include energy-efficient fluid handling and transportation, optical sensing, medicine, and as self-cleaning, and anti-fouling materials operating in extreme environments.
