Dressing enabling the controlled and prolonged release of metformin
The subject matter of the present invention is, according to a first aspect, a dressing comprising an interface layer, characterised in that said interface layer comprises a weave coated with an elastomeric matrix comprising metformin, the salts and the complexes thereof. The subject matter of the invention is also a dressing comprising metformin, characterised in that the percentage of metformin released after 72 hours is between 40 and 100% of the quantity of metformin inserted in the dressing. Moreover, the subject matter of the invention is a method for producing said dressing as well as the use thereof for healing a wound.

Fibers of polymer-wax compositions
A material web is disclosed. The material web includes a fiber layer having a first side and an opposing second side. The fiber layer has a plurality of fibers, each of which having an intimate admixture of a thermoplastic polymer, and a wax and/or oil, wherein at least some of the wax and/or oil is exposed at an outer surface of the fibers. A surface energy treatment is disposed on the first side and/or the second side of the fiber layer.

MEDICAL DEVICES AND IMPLEMENTS WITH LIQUID-IMPREGNATED SURFACES
Described herein are medical devices and medical implements with high lubricity to flesh (or biological fluid) and/or inhibited nucleation on its surface. The device has a surface comprising an impregnating liquid and a plurality of micro-scale and/or nano-scale solid features spaced sufficiently close to stably contain the impregnating liquid therebetween. The impregnating liquid fills spaces between said solid features, the surface stably contains the impregnating liquid between the solid features, and the impregnating liquid is substantially held in place between the plurality of solid features regardless of orientation of the surface.

Superabsorbent polymer composition
A superabsorbent polymer composition exhibiting very improved antimicrobial and deodorizing properties while maintaining basic absorption performance, and can significantly reduce the generation of dust during the application for a process, and thus fulfills both stability and processability and can be usefully applied for hygienic goods such as a diaper and the like. The superabsorbent polymer composition includes: a) superabsorbent polymer particles including a crosslinked polymer of water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomers including acid groups, of which at least a part are neutralized, and b) an antimicrobial agent having a controlled particle size, containing a chelating agent including EDTA or an alkali metal salt thereof; a mixture of an organic acid and a silicate-based salt; and an agent for controlling a particle size.
