Power Limiter Configuration for Audio Signals
Example embodiments provide a process that includes one or more of receiving an audio signal at a feedback compressor circuit, multiplying the received audio signal with a power feedback signal to create a product audio signal, wherein the feedback signal comprises a low-pass filtered signal, applying a power amplifier to the product audio signal, and providing the amplified product audio signal as an output signal to a speaker.
System for configuration and status reporting of audio processing in TV sets
Systems are disclosed including a television (TV) set having included audio system. The TV set permits control over various functions, at least including audio volume, via a remote control. When the viewer activates the remote volume control, a graphic appears indicating the state of the volume control and, optionally the mute status. The graphic can be presented on the TV screen. In alternate embodiments, the graphic may be presented on a display of the remote, or even some other location, e.g., a different remote control. If a mute button is provided on the remote control, when the viewer activates the mute button, a graphic appears indicating the state of muting and, optionally, the volume control status. The TV set also offers control over various aspects of the audio system, including settings which go beyond volume up/down, generally through some sort of menu system.
System and method for bass enhancement
A system and method for enhancing the real and/or perceived bass band of an audio signal is disclosed. A computationally simple yet effective bass band enhancement system for use in consumer electronics applications is disclosed. An audio processing system including bass enhancement functionality for use in a mobile audio system is disclosed.
Bass management for audio rendering
Improved methods and devices for processing low-frequency audio data are provided. A bass extraction process may involve applying low-pass filters to received audio object signals, to produce extracted low-frequency audio signals. The bass extraction process may be performed prior to a process of rendering audio objects into speaker feed signals. A bass management process may involve routing the extracted low-frequency audio signals to the one or more speakers capable of reproducing low-frequency audio signals.
Power limiter configuration for audio signals
Example embodiments provide a process that includes one or more of receiving an audio signal at a feedback compressor circuit, determining how much to attenuate the audio signal when a power level of the audio signal exceeds a threshold power level, combining the audio signal with an auxiliary attenuation signal from an auxiliary attenuation source and a compressed attenuation signal from the feedback compressor circuit to create a combination signal, and generating an audio output signal of the feedback compressor circuit based on the combination signal.
HEADSET PLAYBACK ACOUSTIC DOSIMETRY
In-ear sound pressure level, SPL, is determined that is caused by output audio being converted into sound by a headset worn by a user. The in-ear SPL is converted into a sound sample having units that are suitable for evaluating sound noise exposure. These operations are repeated to produce a sequence of sound samples during playback. This sequence of sound samples is then written to a secure database. Access to the database is authorized by the user. Other aspects are also described and claimed.
Clipping state detecting circuit and clipping state detecting method
According to one embodiment, a clipping state detecting circuit includes: a zero-cross detection circuit that detects a zero-cross point of an input signal; an output circuit that converts the input signal into a PWM signal; a clip detection circuit that detects a state in which an output of the output circuit is clipped; and a control circuit that determines a state is a clipping state when a clip time of the output of the output circuit satisfies a condition of a threshold value set in advance with respect to a non-clip time.
DECODING APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM
The present technology relates to a decoding apparatus, a decoding method and a program which make it possible to obtain sound with higher quality.
A demultiplexing circuit demultiplexes an input code string into a gain code string and a signal code string. A signal decoding circuit decodes the signal code string to output a time series signal. A gain decoding circuit decodes the gain code string. That is, the gain decoding circuit reads out gain values and gain inclination values at predetermined gain sample positions of the time series signal and interpolation mode information. An interpolation processing unit obtains a gain value at each sample position between two gain sample positions through linear interpolation or non-linear interpolation according to the interpolation mode based on the gain values and the gain inclination values. A gain applying circuit adjusts a gain of the time series signal based on the gain values. The present technology can be applied to a decoding apparatus.
Concept for combined dynamic range compression and guided clipping prevention for audio devices
The invention provides a concept for combined dynamic range compression and guided clipping prevention for audio devices. An audio decoder for decoding an audio bitstream and a metadata bitstream related to the audio bitstream according to the concept includes an audio processing chain including a plurality of adjustment stages including a dynamic range control stage for adjusting a dynamic range of the audio output signal and a guided clipping prevention stage for preventing clipping of the audio output signal; and a metadata decoder configured to receive the metadata bitstream and to extract dynamic range control gain sequences and guided clipping prevention gain sequences from the metadata bitstream, at least a part of the dynamic range control gain sequences being supplied to the dynamic range control stage, and at least a part of the guided clipping prevention gain sequences being supplied to the guided clipping prevention stage.
