ADHESIVE TRANSPARENT MULTIFUNCTIONAL WOUND-COVERING MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
The present invention has absorbency for the exudate of the wound surface and can maintain a moist environment suitable for promoting healing of the wound surface for a long time, an adhesive transparent multi-functional wound-covering material and a method for manufacturing the same are proposed so as not to cause pain or damage to the regenerated skin when replacing the wound dressing. Such a wound-covering material includes 14% by weight of polyvinylpyrrolidone, 5% by weight of propylene glycol, 79.0996% by weight of water, 0.6% by weight of calcium chloride, 0.3% by weight of potassium sorbate, 0.0004% by weight of RH oligopeptide, and 1% by weight of D-xylitol.
Self-Sterilizing Wound Dressing
A self-sterilizing wound dressing is disclosed. The wound dressing comprises a substrate having a first surface facing at least a portion of a wound or a surgical site and a second surface facing opposite to the first surface. At least one surface of the substrate comprises a sulfonated polymer selected from the group of perfluorosulfonic acid polymers, polystyrene sulfonates, sulfonated block copolymers, sulfonated polyolefins, sulfonated polyimides, sulfonated polyamides, sulfonated polyesters, sulfonated polysulfones, sulfonated polyketones, sulfonated poly(arylene ether), and mixtures thereof. The sulfonated polymer is sufficiently or selectively sulfonated to contain from 10-100 mol % sulfonic acid or sulfonate salt functional groups based on the number of monomer units, for killing at least 90% of microbes in less than 120 minutes of coming into contact with the wound dressing.
Delivery systems
Disclosed herein are delivery systems including coated and uncoated yarns, yarn precursors, threads, fibers, and other substrates for the constant or near-constant release of active compounds, as well as methods for manufacturing such delivery systems. The yarns, yarn precursors, threads, fibers, and other substrates can include a cross-linked hydrophobic elastomer and an active compound. One or more coatings that are impermeable or substantially impermeable to the active compound may partially or fully occlude the yarn or substrate to control release rates of the active compound. The delivery systems may be used in a variety of applications, including the making of articles of clothing, textiles, and fabrics, and may be used in methods of treating various conditions and diseases.
