Systems and methods for producing a linear-phase digital FIR filter from two sub-filters for an audio signal. In one method, the sub-filters are provided as sub-sets having numbers of coefficients, a lower cutoff frequency of the particular sub-filter being greater than the sampling frequency of the audio signal divided by the number. The sub-sets are linearly convoluted with one another so as to form a total set having a number of coefficients greater than the numbers, and the total set is symmetrically reduced to a number less than the number, so as to form a reduced total set of the filter. A linear-phase digital FIR filter for an audio signal is created by the method.

The method comprises estimating, by a receiver, channel for each of a plurality of antennas using the received signal stream, to produce a plurality of estimated channels. Also, method comprises grouping a predetermined number of received signals from the received signal stream and estimated channels associated with the received signals to obtain a plurality of groups. Further, a group specific filtering is performed on the received signals and corresponding estimated channels of each of the plurality of groups to obtain filtered received signals and a plurality of filtered estimated channels. Thereafter, the method comprises performing second filtering on all the filtered received signals to produce second filtered signals, which are processed to produce an output.

According to the present invention, a filtering apparatus includes an FIR filter that has multipliers arranged to multiply input digital data having their respective different input time points by respective variable tap coefficients. The variable tap coefficients are each switched from a first tap coefficient to a second tap coefficient sequentially for the input digital data from later to earlier input time points. The first tap coefficient is arranged to cause the FIR filter to serve as a low-pass filter with the cut-off frequency set at a first frequency. The second tap coefficient is arranged to cause the FIR filter to serve as a low-pass filter with the cut-off frequency set at a second frequency different from the first frequency.

An interleaved cascaded integrator-comb (“CIC”) filter receives an interleaved sensor output signal, including a plurality of digitized sensor signals at an input clock rate. An integrator of the interleaved CIC filter processes the interleaved signal to output an integrated interleaved signal. A downsampler of the interleaved CIC filter buffers portions of the integrated interleaved corresponding to a decimation rate for the interleaved signal. The portions of the signals are provided to a comb filter, which outputs a decimated interleaved signal.

The present disclosure relates generally to providing a flexible patch and system for communicating through hard plastic masks such as CPAP/BiPAP® masks. Using electronic circuitry and novel designs, the present systems and methods can detect speech vibrations and output audible speech from hard plastic mask wearers. For example, in certain embodiments, the present systems and methods can recognize speech through a CPAP/BiPAP® mask, filter out non-human voice related noise, and output the resulting speech of the mask wearer.
