SOLVENT DEPOSITION SYSTEM AND METHODS
A hemostatic device comprising a biomaterial matrix and a polymeric material prepared by combining the polymeric material with a solvent, applying the combination to the biomaterial, removing the solvent, and retaining an effective layer of the polymeric material to the biomaterial to enhance the performance of the hemostatic device in the treatment of wounds.
TISSUE-JOINING MEMBER, AND USE THEREOF
This tissue-joining member comprises non-crosslinked fibrous collagen. A laminate body comprises: a support; a joining member that is layered on one surface of the support; and a first adhesive layer that is layered on said one surface of the support in a region on which the joining member is not layered. The method for using the joining member or the laminate body comprises: a heating step in which the joining member or the laminate body is heated to less than 60° C. and greater than body temperature after having being layered on the tissue; and a cooling step in which the heated joining member or laminate body is cooled to body temperature or lower. A treatment system comprises a heating unit and the joining member or the laminate body.
Tissue sealant compositions, vascular closure devices, and uses thereof
The present invention provides tissue sealant compositions and vasculature closure devices useful for the optical detection of tissue seal and/or clot formation. Compositions and devices of the present invention comprise optical dyes which undergo an observable change as the compositions and/or devices are incorporated into a tissue seal and/or clot, for example a change in fluorescence quantum yield and/or a change in visual color including a change in emission and/or absorption wavelength. Tissue sealants and vasculature closure devices of the present invention are useful for visualizing seal and/or clot formation, for example, during or after surgical procedures, after catheter removal, etc. The present invention further provides methods for formation and optical detection of tissue seals or vasculature puncture closures as well as medical kits useful for the formation and optical detection of tissue seals or vasculature puncture closures.
Tissue matrix materials and enzymatic adhesives
The present application relates to use of transglutaminases to treat various tissue matrix products. The methods can include application of a transglutaminase to a partially denatured collagen-containing tissue matrix and implantation of the tissue matrix. The transglutaminase can facilitate adhesion with another collagen-containing tissue matrix, tissue surrounding the tissue matrix after implantation, or both.
PRESSURE-SENSITIVE HYDROGEL AND METHOD OF USE
Embodiments of the disclosure may include a pressure sensitive hydrogel composition. The composition may include a liquid solvent, a polymer, and an acid gas. The composition may be capable of having a fluid phase in which the acid gas is dissolved in the solvent and the polymer is dissolved in the solvent, and the composition may be capable of having a gel phase in which the acid gas is not dissolved in the liquid solvent and the polymer is precipitated out of the solvent. The composition may also include a chemical compound or a pharmaceutical agent that can be released after the composition is delivered to a target tissue region.
Flexible Gelatin Sealant Dressing with Reactive Components
The present invention is directed to hemostatic sealants having a compressed porous substrate, an electrophilic group containing component that is not gelatin or collagen, a nucleophilic group containing component, and a buffering agent. The present invention also relates to method for manufacture and use of such sealants to seal and/or achieve hemostasis.
HYDRATABLE AND FLOWABLE IMPLANTABLE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THEM
Implantable bone compositions are provided. The implantable compositions comprise hydratable bone putties. The hydratable bone putties comprise porous ceramic granules having an average diameter from about 50 m to 800 m. The porous ceramic granules comprise hydroxyapatite and beta-tricalcium phosphate. The implantable bone compositions further include collagen carriers. In some embodiments, the hydratable bone putty can be hydrated to form a non-settable flowable cohesive cement or gel. Methods of making and using the implantable compositions are also provided.
Composition for hemostasis and container comprising same
The present invention relates to a composition for hemostasis which contains collagen, stabilizer, and thrombin, and a container including the same. The present invention is applicable to a bleeding patient requiring emergency treatment with a simple method of use. There is no toxicity and no problem of blood infection. A biodegradation rate is fast. In this regard, the present invention achieves an excellent hemostatic effect. Therefore, the composition for hemostasis is useful as a hemostat.
