A communication system includes a transmitter configured to transmit a modulated signal, a transmission line configured to carry the modulated signal, and a receiver coupled to the transmitter by the transmission line, and configured to receive the modulated signal. The transmitter includes a modulator configured to generate the modulated signal responsive to a data signal and a carrier signal. The receiver includes a demodulator configured to demodulate the modulated signal responsive to a first carrier signal. The demodulator includes a filter and a gain adjusting circuit configured to adjust a gain of the filter, and to generate the set of control signals based on a voltage of the filtered first signal and a voltage of the first signal. The gain adjusting circuit includes a first peak detector coupled to the filter, and configured to detect a peak value of the voltage of the filtered first signal.

Each AP includes a differential segmented aperture (DSA) comprising a two-dimensional array of electrically conductive tapered projections disposed on a support board, modular analog front ends (MAFE's) configuring the DSA for different respective wireless services, an in phase/quadrature (IQ) board, and one or more network cards. The network of APs support two or more different wireless communication protocols operating in different RF bands. In some embodiments, each AP of the network supports both a cellular service and a WiFi service using the same DSA. In some embodiments, the network of APs form a network of cell towers of a cellular service. In some embodiments, the network of APs form a network of APs of an indoor wireless network.

Systems and methods for integrating injection-locked oscillators into transceiver arrays are disclosed. In one aspect, there is provided an injection-locked oscillator (ILO) distribution system including a master clock generator configured to generate a master clock signal. The ILO distribution system also includes an ILO distribution circuit including an ILO and configured to receive the master clock signal. The ILO is configured to generate a reference clock signal based on the master clock signal. The ILO distribution circuit is further configured to generate an output signal indicative of an operating frequency of the ILO. The ILO distribution system further includes an injection-locked detector (ILD) configured to receive the master clock signal and the output signal. The ILD is further configured to determine whether the ILO is in a locked state or in an unlocked state based on the master clock signal and the output signal.

The mixer has an output impedance that varies depending on the frequency of operation. An adjustable resistance can be coupled to the input of the transimpedance amplifier. A control circuit can tune the adjustable resistance to compensate for changes in the output impedance of the mixer as the transceiver operates across a wide range of frequencies.

The method further includes amplifying the attenuated signal with an amplifier while operating the apparatus in the first mode. For certain aspects, the method further involves operating the apparatus in a second mode, bypassing the attenuator while operating the apparatus in the second mode, and amplifying the received signal with the amplifier while operating the apparatus in the second mode.
