RADIO-FREQUENCY MODULE AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A radio-frequency module includes a first base, which has at least a part formed of a first semiconductor material and which includes a low-noise amplifier circuit, a second base, which has at least a part formed of a second semiconductor material having a thermal conductivity lower than that of the first semiconductor material and which includes a power amplifier circuit, and a module substrate, which has a principal surface on which the first base and the second base are disposed. The first base is joined to the principal surface with electrodes interposed in between. The second base is disposed between the module substrate and the first base in cross-sectional view, and is joined to the principal surface with an electrode interposed in between. At least a part of the first base overlaps at least a part of the second base in plan view.
Methods, systems, and media for detecting the presence of a digital media device on a network
Methods, systems, and media for detecting the presence of a digital media device on a network are provided. In some embodiments, methods for detecting a presence of a particular type of digital media device is provided, the methods comprising: identifying cached device details for devices previously associated with the network; performing a simple device discovery protocol (SSDP) on the network, and substantially concurrently sending a unicast message to an address associated with the identified cached digital media device using hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP); and indicating the presence of a digital media device on the network in response to either (i) receiving a response to the unicast message, or (ii) determining that a type of a device discovered using SSDP is the same as the particular device type.
Systems and methods for proactive network maintenance
The present disclosure generally relates to systems, methods and software for quantitatively evaluating an improvement on an active communication network when an impairment, such as a developing impairment, is addressed by one or more repair options via proactive network maintenance.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR OPERATING ANTENNA MODULE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
The present disclosure relates to a device for activating a radio frequency (RF) module which is to be used efficiently in an electronic device that operates a plurality of RF modules (or antenna modules) in a wireless communication system, and to a method for controlling same. To this end, the electronic device checks the temperatures of the plurality of antenna modules using a first frequency band, and identifies candidate antenna modules in consideration of the temperatures of the plurality of antenna modules. The electronic device selects a serving antenna module from among the candidate antenna modules so that an available temperature state, in which the temperatures of the candidate antenna modules are lower than a threshold temperature, is maintained, and transmits and receives a signal using the first frequency band in the serving antenna module. The candidate antenna modules may include antenna modules which support communication performance of a threshold level or higher.

Electronic device encasement which stores and presents data cards
Disclosed herein is a case for a portable electronic device. The case has a back wall and a plurality of side walls for retaining the portable electronic device. The back wall includes a storage area. A cover is hingedly attached to the back wall to selectively cover the storage area. The storage area includes a grip for retaining edges of data cards.
Power saving mechanism for MU-MIMO transmissions
Techniques for power saving by remote wireless mobile devices are provided, in particular by stations (STAs) during downlink (DL) multiple-user multiple-input and multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmissions in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ay network when reverse direction (RD) transmissions are either enabled and not enabled. Various embodiments enable each STA in a group of STAs to determine an order in which the STAs are requested to send a block acknowledgement (BACK) and which STAs will be granted an RD transmission. Further, a duration of each RD transmission is provided to each STA. Based on the provided information, each STA can determine times to enter a power saving mode. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Transmitters and receivers
An RF transmitter comprising an optical source configured to generate a pair of optical lines separated by an RF carrier frequency. The transmitter may comprise a graphene photodetector having at least two electrical contacts; a transmit antenna coupled to a first of the electrical contacts; and an electrical data signal input connected to a second of the electrical contacts. The graphene photodetector is illuminated by the optical source; it may comprise a graphene photo-thermal effect (PTE) photodetector or a bolometric photodetector. A corresponding receiver is also described.
