Management system for objects under monitoring and method of identifying beacon terminals
A management system for objects under monitoring that is capable of managing the presence of moving objects under monitoring. The management system includes a plurality of beacon terminals, one or more management terminals, and a management server. The beacon terminals are respectively held by the moving objects under monitoring, and each have a unique identifier and broadcast a beacon signal. The one or more management terminals are respectively held by one or more moving bodies moving in one or more areas, receive beacon signals to acquire beacon identifiers and beacon presence information, and acquire location information via a positioning system. The management terminals output beacon information spontaneously or upon request. The management server determines the state of presence of the objects under monitoring in the one or more areas, based on the beacon information acquired from the one or more management terminals.

Systems and method for lagrangian monitoring of flooding conditions
A traffic monitoring system and method for mapping traffic speed and density while preserving privacy. The system can include fixed stations that make up a network and mobile probes that are associated with vehicles. The system and method do not gather, store, or transmit any unique or identifying information, and thereby preserves the privacy of members of traffic. The system and method provide real-time traffic density and speed mapping. The system and method can further be integrated with a complementary flood monitoring system and method.
Wireless communication device
A wireless communication device includes: an antenna for transmitting and receiving a radio wave, a rectifying circuit that is connected to the antenna and rectifies the radio wave received by the antenna to generate voltage, an internal circuit that operates by the voltage generated by the rectifying circuit, and a switch circuit that is disposed contactlessly with respect to the antenna and operates on the basis of an output signal of the internal circuit, wherein the switch circuit includes a coupling wiring and a switch element, and the operation of the switch element varies the impedance of the antenna so that communication can be carried out.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD
A wireless communication device includes a transmitter that is provided in a rotary part of a rotary device and transmits a wireless signal; a receiver that is provided in a stationary part of the rotary device, receives the wireless signal, and calculates a communication quality level based on the wireless signal; and processing circuitry to determine a communication cycle based on the communication quality level so that the communication cycle synchronizes with a cycle as a multiple of a rotation cycle of the rotary part by an integer greater than or equal to 1, and to make timing of the communication between the transmitter and the receiver follow the rotation cycle by increasing or decreasing the communication cycle so that the communication quality level increases.

TRANSPONDER TAG THAT IS OPERABLE BY A MOBILE TELEPHONE, PORTABLE OBJECT, MOBILE TELEPHONE, AND CORRESPONDING METHODS
The present invention relates to a transponder tag (10) that is operable by a mobile telephone, a mobile telephone for operating such a transponder tag (10), a method of operating the transponder tag (10), and a method for detecting the presence of a portable object. The transponder tag comprises a receiving unit (20) for receiving a wireless input signal. The transponder tag (10) is configured to obtain energy (EG) from the received input signal and to use the energy (EG) obtained from the input signal for transmitting by way of a wireless short-range connection a wireless output signal (SSR) that corresponds to a tag information (ITG) of the transponder tag (10). The receiving unit (20) is configured to receive a wireless input signal (STUP) at a frequency of at least one uplink band of a mobile telephone network. In this way, radiation energy of the mobile phone is used to achieve an energy-efficient and reliable operation of the transponder tag as long as the latter is located within a short distance of the mobile phone. This is useful for numerous applications. For example a person may use his/her mobile telephone to obtain a quick overview and/or a reliable confirmation that all his/her personnel belongings, e.g. keys or medical box, are “on board” at the moment the person leaves home.
