NFC device, a method of operating the NFC device and a communication system including the NFC device
11916566 · 2024-02-27 · ·

An NFC device that receive a data frame with a start pattern including first and second pattern signals, and a data pattern corresponding to the start pattern. The NFC device comprising an analog-to-digital converter which generates first and second input signals based on the first and second pattern signals, respectively, a modem that includes a first sub-matched filter which multiplies a first match signal by the first and second input signals to respectively calculate first and second result values of the first match signal and multiplies a second match signal by the first and second input signals to respectively calculate first and second result values of the second match signal. The first sub-matched filter determines reception of the start pattern when the first and second result values of the first match signal or the first and second result values of the second match signal exceed a predetermined start pattern threshold.

Self-powered semi-active electronic tag with autonomous processing capacity and its communication procedure having a semi-active electromagnetic auto-feeding electronic device (nanochip) (without the use of batteries). It has autonomous processing capacity and direct two way intercommunication with another device of the same type and with Wifi communication, Bluetooth, (or similar) to Internet (IoT) for connection via Wifi/Bluetooth, or similar, to Internet with blockchain. It is able to identify transactions machine to machine or machine to user, developed with nanotechnology techniques applicable to any industrial product and even living beings and whose process is carried out in three stages. It is capable of generating its own chain of custody, processing and transmitting information and notifications between tags and between these and authorized networks.

System for providing visual device status via a peripheral device
11908266 · 2024-02-20 ·

System and method for systematically changing the color of lighting associated with a peripheral device (e.g., NFC device) based on the status or condition of the machine (e.g., EGM) to which it is connected and/or the status of another peripheral device connected to the machine. The system and method permit the operator of the machine to program unique illumination schemes corresponding to various machine and/or peripheral conditions. For example, the peripheral device may be illuminated with a unique color for each of a bill validator being offline, a cashbox being near full and a player being near to earning a promotion. The system and method may also be used to visually communicate information related to player tracking, mobile wallet, security issues and any other information concerning a EGM, player or casino.

Band identifier system for wearable devices

Wearable electronic devices, such as smart watches, can be provided with a band for securing the device to a wearer. The device and the band can include near-field communications (NFC) components that allow the device to uniquely identify the band. Device operations such as the color, theme, or content displayed on the device can be based, in part, on the identification of a particular band. The band may include a miniature NFC tag in an attachment portion of the band that is configured to be received in a recess in a housing of the device. An NFC module for reading the NFC tag can be provided within the recess of the housing, so that the attachment portion of the band and the recess in the device housing position and align the NFC tag with the NFC module when the band is attached to the device.

Antenna device and electronic device

An antenna device and an electronic device are provided. The antenna device includes a near field communication chip for supplying a differential excitation current, a ground plane forming a conductive path, a first conductor structure, and a second conductor structure. The first conductor structure, conductive path, and second conductor structure collectively form a conductive loop for transmission of the differential excitation current.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SECURE COMMUNICATION OF DATA FROM MEDICAL DEVICES

Disclosed systems and methods include electronic devices attached to a patient or object that transmit data to other devices over a secure communication channel. The devices can track and/or monitor object(s) and/or patient(s) and transmit the tracked and/or monitored data to other electronic devices. Such data can include monitored patient physiological parameter(s) received and/or sensed by the device, for example. A master of the two devices transmits a communication signal to another device that, in response, initiates a secure wireless communication channel, causes one or more modules on the device to be powered, and, when powered, transmits the tracked and/or sensed physiological data over the secure wireless communication channel to the master device. Some example master devices transmit the communication signal with an instruction to the device to activate an onboard power source that later may be disconnected after the tracked and/or physiological data is transmitted.

Electronic device with near-field antenna operating through display

An electronic device may have a display. A display cover layer and a transparent inner display member may overlap a display pixel layer. The display pixel layer may have an array of display pixels for displaying images for a user. A touch sensor layer may be interposed between the display pixel layer and the transparent display member. A ferromagnetic shielding layer may be mounted below the display pixel layer. A flexible printed circuit containing coils of metal signal lines that form a near-field communications loop antenna may be interposed between the ferromagnetic shielding layer and the display pixel layer. A non-near-field antenna such as an inverted-F antenna may have a resonating element mounted on an inner surface of the display cover layer. The resonating element may be interposed between the transparent display member and the display cover layer.

CONTROL DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

In order to enable a user to produce a program by means of visible operations, a pairing unit pairs a user terminal and a basic core. A program production unit produces a program on the basis of touch operations by the user. An H parts supply unit and an S parts supply unit respectively supply H parts and S parts to the program production unit. A parts connection unit connects the various H parts and S parts in accordance with touch operations by the user. A program execution unit extracts from a program storage unit a program to be executed, and executes that program. A communication control unit transmits the execution result for the program executed by the program execution unit to the basic core via a second close-range communication unit.

Near-field communication (NFC)-based retail experience using a retail kiosk or mobile device

A customer is provided with a personalized retail experience using a retail kiosk or mobile device that is enabled for near-field communication (NFC). The kiosk is provided with customer identifying information through an NFC-based communication with a customer's user device. The kiosk authenticates the customer based on the identifying information, retrieves retail information associated with the customer from a back-end server, and provides the personalized retail experience using the retrieved information. In one example, the personalized retail experience is provided based on customer-input received through an NFC reader of the kiosk. Also, the mobile device can be provided with a retail store identifier through an NFC-based communication link with an NFC tag for the store. The personalized retail experience can then be provided through the mobile device based on retail information for the retail store that is retrieved by the mobile device based on the identifier obtained through NFC.
