Techniques to reduce power consumption in near field communication systems
Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques communicate in a cellular communication frequency range, detect a resonant signal in response to the communication in the cellular communication frequency range for cellular communication, the resonant signal to indicate presence of a contactless card. Embodiments also include enabling a near-field communication device to send a communication to the contactless card based on the detection of the resonant signal, the near-field communication device to communicate with the contactless card in a near-field communication frequency range.
Method for controlling the tuning to a communications frequency of an antenna connected to a component designed for contactless communication and corresponding system
A contactless component, connected to an antenna, includes a plurality of terminals and a first, second, third, and fourth plurality of switchable auxiliary capacitors. The plurality of terminals include a first output terminal, a second output terminal, a first auxiliary terminal, and a second auxiliary terminal. Each of the first plurality of switchable auxiliary capacitors is connected between the first auxiliary terminal and the first output terminal. Each of the second plurality of switchable auxiliary capacitors is coupled between the first auxiliary terminal and a neutral point. Each of the third plurality of switchable auxiliary capacitors is coupled between the second auxiliary terminal and the second output terminal of the contactless component. Each of the fourth plurality of switchable auxiliary capacitors is coupled between the second auxiliary terminal and the neutral point.
Multifunctional hybrid module and portable device comprising same
A multifunctional integrated module is provided. The multifunctional integrated module includes an antenna unit including heterogeneous antennas and a magnetic field shielding unit, disposed on one surface of the antenna unit, including a magnetic field shielding layer which includes shredded Fe-based alloy fragments and a dielectric filling at least a part of gaps between at least a part of some adjacent ones of the shredded Fe-based alloy fragments, to improve the characteristics of the antennas and condense a magnetic flux toward the antennas. According to this, although the functions are performed simultaneously, the respective functions are excellently expressed at the same time, and the durability can be ensured by preventing the deterioration of the function even with external physical shocks during use.
Systems and methods for prioritizing default payment options in virtual wallets
Techniques are disclosed for utilizing NFC, beacon, geo-fencing and/or other technologies to select default virtual cards in virtual wallets and to enable promotions for individuals who utilize the default virtual cards to conduct transactions. A reconfiguration signal that designates a virtual card to be a default virtual card is transmitted to a mobile device having an installed virtual wallet application. The virtual wallet application determines whether it includes stored information corresponding to the virtual card identified by the reconfiguration signal. In response to determining that the virtual wallet application includes the virtual card identified by the reconfiguration signal, the virtual wallet application updates or confirms a default card setting of the virtual wallet application to designate the virtual card identified by the reconfiguration signal as the default virtual card. Promotions may be applied to transactions involving the default virtual card for a predetermined period of time.
Method and apparatus for optimum channel combination for NFC transceivers
Various embodiments relate to a method and circuit for combining channels, the method including receiving, by a matching and smoothing filter, a signal from an analog to digital converter and extracting a root mean square signal level, receiving, by a noise power detector (NPD), the signal from the ADC and assessing noise contribution on the signal and receiving, by a maximum ratio combiner, the signal from the matching and smoothing filter wherein a combiner selects between using a geometric sum and an arithmetic sum to combine the channels.
Near-Field Communication Circuit, Interface, and System
A circuit includes a near-field communication circuit configured to receive a radio frequency control signal transmitted in a near-field regime, a pulse width modulation signal generation circuit coupled to the near-field communication circuit circuit and configured to generate a pulse width modulation signal according to the radio frequency control signal, and a non-volatile memory coupled to both the near-field communication circuit circuit and the pulse width modulation signal generation circuit, the non-volatile memory comprising digital words for configuring the pulse width modulation signal.
MOTOR CONTROL SYSTEM
Control over the operation of an electrically-controlled motor is supported by an interface circuit between the electrically-controlled motor and a near-field radio frequency communication controller. The interface circuit includes a first circuit that receives at least one control set point through a near-field radio frequency communication issued by the near-field radio frequency communication controller. A second circuit of the interface generates one or more electric signals in pulse width modulation based on the control set point.
Inductive wireless power transfer with time slotted communication
A method is presented of allocating communication time slots contained in repeating frames for communication between an inductive wireless power transmitter and at least two inductive wireless power receivers, wherein the power transmitter and the power receivers are arranged to communicate by means of modulation and demodulation of an inductive power signal. The transmitter sends synchronization messages marking the start of the communication time slots and the frames, and messages indicating if a time slot is unallocated. A receiver may send, during an unallocated time slot, send a message to the transmitter requesting allocation of the unallocated communication time slot. The transmitter subsequently sends messages to indicate if the communication was successfully received, and if the allocation request is granted.
