Smart phone, vehicle control system having smart phone, and control method
A smart phone comprises an NFC antenna and a signal-send unit that communicates with the NFC antenna. The smart phone further comprises an NFC tag containing identification information. The smart phone is configured so that the signal-send unit transmits identification information to an ECU mounted within a vehicle, allowing remote control of the vehicle. The transmitted signals sent by the smart phone are encrypted by a third party.
TECHNIQUES TO REDUCE POWER CONSUMPTION IN NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques communicate in a cellular communication frequency range, detect a resonant signal in response to the communication in the cellular communication frequency range for cellular communication, the resonant signal to indicate presence of a contactless card. Embodiments also include enabling a near-field communication device to send a communication to the contactless card based on the detection of the resonant signal, the near-field communication device to communicate with the contactless card in a near-field communication frequency range
Activating an output component to indicate an orientation of a near-field communication (NFC)-capable transaction card
A transaction card may monitor an amount of electric current induced in a first near-field communication (NFC) component of a transaction card. Electric current may be induced in the first NFC component when the first NFC component is within an electromagnetic field generated by a second NFC component of a transaction terminal. The transaction card may dynamically activate one or more output components associated with the transaction card based on the amount of electric current induced in the first NFC component. The one or more output components may indicate whether the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal. The transaction card may perform an action related to completing a transaction after determining that the amount of electric current induced in the NFC component satisfies a first threshold. The first threshold may indicate that the transaction card can communicate with the transaction terminal.

A circuit includes a near-field communication circuit configured to receive a radio frequency control signal transmitted in a near-field regime, a pulse width modulation signal generation circuit coupled to the near-field communication circuit circuit and configured to generate a pulse width modulation signal according to the radio frequency control signal, and a non-volatile memory coupled to both the near-field communication circuit circuit and the pulse width modulation signal generation circuit, the non-volatile memory comprising digital words for configuring the pulse width modulation signal.
NFC-ENABLED APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF
An NFC-enabled apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a touch screen display and a near field communication (NFC) module comprising an NFC antenna and an NFC controller. In response to tagging between the NFC-enabled apparatus and the external NFC terminal, an NFC communication channel is established between the NFC-enabled apparatus and the external NFC terminal for data communication therebetween.
Communication Device, Communication Control Method, and Program
There is provided a communication device including an obtaining unit configured to obtain first state information representing a state of a first wireless communication device regarding a direct connection between devices via wireless communication and second state information representing a state of a second wireless communication device regarding the direct connection, and a control unit configured to establish a connection between the first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device via the wireless communication on the basis of the first state information and the second state information. At least one of the first state information and the second state information is obtained via near-field communication.
METHOD OF MANAGING AN OUTPUT POWER DELIVERED BY AN ANTENNA OF A NFC APPARATUS AND NFC APPARATUS
In an embodiment, a method of managing an output power delivered by an antenna of a NFC apparatus includes: providing a matching circuit with a first tuning capacitive network coupled in series between a NFC controller and the antenna and with a second tuning capacitive network coupled to the NFC controller and the antenna and to a reference terminal, wherein the first or second tuning capacitive network has a variable capacitive value; determining tuning capacitive values of the first tuning capacitive networks to adjust a delivered output power at a desired level; and setting the tuning capacitive values of the first tuning capacitive network to the tuning capacitive values.
Systems and Methods for Detecting Wireless Power Receivers and Other Objects at a Near-Field Charging Pad
An example method is performed at a near-field charging pad with a processor, a power-transferring element, a signature-signal-receiving circuit, and the processor of the near-field charging pad is in communication with a data source that includes predefined signature signals that each identify one of (i) a wireless power receiver, (ii) an object other than a wireless power receiver, and (iii) a combination of a wireless power receiver and an object other than a wireless power receiver. The method includes: after sending a plurality of test radio frequency (RF) power transmission signals, detecting, using the signature-signal-receiving circuit, respective amounts of reflected power; generating, based on variations in the respective amounts of reflected power, a signature signal; and determining whether (i) an authorized wireless power receiver is present on the near-field charging pad and/or (ii) an object other than a wireless power receiver is present on the near-field charging pad.
Integrated circuits
A semiconductor integrated circuit device comprises at least first and second circuits said first and second circuits being connected to a shared external connection. The device further comprises a voltage clamp that is operable to limit a voltage at the shared external connection. The voltage clamp can be selectively enabled depending upon whether the first or second circuit is being used.
PLUMBING CONTROL DEVICE
A system for remotely measuring the characteristics of water passing through a plumbing control device (PCD) includes a sensor within the interior of the PCD. The sensor is configured to measure characteristics of the water to obtain measured data. The sensor is also linked to a microcontroller of the PCD. An antenna board is linked, and configured to transmit power, to both the microcontroller and the sensor. A mobile device is configured to locate the antenna board. The mobile device transmits power to the antenna board which, in turn, transmits power to the microcontroller and the sensor. When power is not being transmitted from the antenna board, the microcontroller and the sensor are powered off.
