A communication mode switching method and device. The method comprises: receiving a sending request; detecting whether the radio-frequency signal strength of a downlink channel meets a first threshold; when the radio-frequency signal strength is greater than or equal to the first threshold, determining that a relay station is in a working state, and keeping a relaying mode to finish the sending request; when the radio-frequency signal strength is less than the first threshold, determining that the relay station is in an abnormal state, and switching to an offline mode to finish the sending request, the offline mode specifically being to perform sending after regulating the sending frequency to be the receiving frequency of the downlink channel. It can be seen that, whether the relay station is in the abnormal state is determined by detecting whether the signal strength of the downlink channel meets the preset threshold, and sequentially, the working mode is switched between the relaying mode and the offline mode in a targeted manner, so that when the relay station is in the abnormal state, the receiving frequency of the downlink channel is used as the sending frequency for sending signals, so as to ensure that other mobile stations are capable of receiving the sent signals, and the rate of call loss is lowered.

In response to receiving a request for starting relay of content data, from a communication terminal, the control apparatus transmits, with a request for starting relay of content data, relay device identification information for identifying the representative relay device to a relay device connected to the communication terminal, to cause the relay device to further transmit the request for starting relay of content data to the representative relay device identified with the relay device identification information of the representative relay device.

The second client device is located in communication range of the first client device. The first client device is communicating a first portion of a data flow, via a first wireless link, with a first access point of the one or more access points. The method comprises, in response to determining satisfaction of one or more relay criteria: directing the first access point to generate a second wireless link with the second client device; and directing the first access point to provide first metadata including a first set of relay instructions. The first set of relay instructions instructs the second client device to relay a second portion of the data flow between the first access point and the first client device via the second wireless link.

Various embodiments herein disclose scheduling relay of traffic. The method comprises, selecting a second client device from a plurality of client devices. The second client device is located in communication range of the first client device. The first client device is communicating a first portion of a data flow, via a first wireless link, with a first access point of the one or more access points. The method comprises, in response to determining satisfaction of one or more relay criteria: directing the first access point to generate a second wireless link with the second client device; and directing the first access point to provide first metadata including a first set of relay instructions. The first set of relay instructions instructs the second client device to relay a second portion of the data flow between the first access point and the first client device via the second wireless link.

System and method for scheduling for redundant layer 2 control messages may be provided. A control message for a Station (STA) may be received at a secondary Access Point (AP) from a primary AP. The primary AP and the secondary AP may both cover the STA. The primary AP may send the control message to both the secondary AP and the STA. The secondary AP may listen for an acknowledgement from the STA to the primary AP confirming receipt of the control message. The secondary AP may resend the control message to the STA in response to no acknowledgement from the STA to the primary AP confirming the receipt of the control message.

Virtual wireless network
Disclosed virtual wireless networks include a network controller interconnected with wireless access points by a broadband backbone. The controller may include or interface with a gateway coupling the virtual network to the Internet via one or more interim networks. The broadband backbone includes network switches and broadband interconnects interconnecting the wireless access points and the network controller. The broadband backbone may be implemented as an optical backbone and the broadband interconnects may include one or more optical fiber interconnects. The network controller may control the manner in which mobile devices connect to wireless access points. The network controller may configure the wireless access points to present, to mobile devices within the isolated environment, the plurality of physical wireless cells provided by the plurality of individual wireless access points as a single virtual wireless network. The network controller may also assign wireless connections between mobile devices and wireless access points.

A relay apparatus system is a relay apparatus system that is mounted in a vehicle, and includes: a wireless relay apparatus that wirelessly communicates with a communication apparatus provided outside of the vehicle; and a plurality of wired relay apparatuses that are connected in series downstream of the wireless relay apparatus when the communication apparatus is assumed to be positioned upstream of the wireless relay apparatus, wherein each of the plurality of wired relay apparatuses includes a communication unit that is communicably connected to an ECU for controlling an in-vehicle apparatus that is mounted in the vehicle.
