Patient support apparatuses with wireless headwall communication

A person support apparatus includes a first transceiver adapted to wirelessly communicate with a second transceiver of a headwall interface that is positioned off of the person support apparatus. A communication link is automatically established between the first and second transceivers without requiring a user of the person support apparatus to activate a designated control and without requiring the user to identify the headwall interface. The first transceiver includes a unique identifier assigned to the headwall interface in its messages to the headwall interface. The first transceiver may also automatically transmit a disconnect signal to the headwall interface indicating the termination of the communication link is not accidental. The disconnect signal is sent based on one or more of the following: (1) a brake being off, (2) an A/C power cord being unplugged; and/or (3) a signal strength between the transceivers decreasing.

A controller of a display control device is configured to display particular button images on a display, and determine whether setting in device has been set in response to receiving, from a user interface, a particular selection signal to identify a communication button image, which is one of the particular button images displayed on the display. When it is determined that the setting information has been set, the controller obtains the intensity of the radio wave detected by the detector and displays a communication-related screen corresponding to the obtained intensity of the radio wave. When it is determined that the setting information has not been set, the controller displays a particular setting screen on the display.

A wireless communication system includes a first wireless communication node for transmitting a data signal that is sent to a second wireless communication node by skywave propagation over at least two different data transmission paths. The first data transmission path includes at least one reflection point where the data signal is reflected by the atmosphere and the second data transmission path includes more reflection points than the first data transmission path. The data signal that travelled along the first data transmission path is decoded before the data signal that travelled along the second data transmission path.

Method for establishing classic Bluetooth connection between dual-mode Bluetooth devices, and dual-mode Bluetooth device

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide, for example, a Bluetooth connection method, the example method including sending, by a first terminal, a Bluetooth low energy BLE advertising message, where the BLE advertising message includes device information. A second terminal receives the BLE advertising message, and then obtains the device information. The second terminal then matches the device information with prestored device information and, if the device information successfully matches the prestored device information, initiates a classic Bluetooth connection request to the first terminal, where the first terminal then establishes a classic Bluetooth connection to the second terminal. Power consumption of BLE is low.

Offshore downhole telemetry using sea floor cable

An offshore measured or logging-while drilling electromagnetic telemetry system includes a bottomhole assembly having a transmitter to communicate one or more electromagnetic telemetry signals. A subsea telemetry cable is positioned on a sea floor to receive the telemetry signals. The subsea telemetry cable is coupled to an umbilical cable extending to a surface communication unit positioned at the sea surface. Signals received by the subsea telemetry cable are transmitted to the surface communication unit for further processing.
