This optical amplification module includes a light source that outputs light of a predetermined wavelength as excitation light, a first optical coupler that splits the excitation light into first excitation light and second excitation light such that an optical power ratio becomes a predetermined ratio, and then couples the first excitation light with a first optical signal and outputs the result, and outputs the second excitation light to a different path from the first optical signal and a first optical amplifier that amplifies and outputs the first optical signal.

CONFIGURABLE MEMORY STORAGE SYSTEM

Various embodiments for configurable memory storage systems are disclosed. The configurable memory storages selectively choose an operational voltage signal from among multiple operational voltage signals to dynamically control various operational parameters. For example, the configurable memory storages selectively choose a maximum operational voltage signal from among the multiple operational voltage signals to maximize read/write speed. As another example, the configurable memory storages selectively choose a minimum operational voltage signal from among the multiple operational voltage signals to minimize power consumption.

An optical transmission apparatus outputs a main signal. An optical transmission apparatus superimposes a monitoring signal on an optical signal and outputs it. A submarine branching apparatus includes a return unit configured to return the monitoring signal received from the optical transmission apparatus and is configured to switch an output destination of the main signal received from the optical transmission apparatus to an optical transmission apparatus or the optical transmission apparatus. The optical transmission apparatus is configured to detect the monitoring signal returned from the return unit and notifies the optical transmission apparatus of a result of the detection. The optical transmission apparatus instructs the submarine branching apparatus to switch the output destination of the main signal in accordance with the notification.
