An intra-body communication system for monitoring physiological changes in a patient is provided. The system can include a first device implanted into a patient's body; a second device spaced apart from the first device; and a receiver for detecting and/or decoding the signals to monitor physiological changes in the patient. The first device and second device are capable of engaging in a two-way communication through transmission of one or more signals through at least a portion of the patient's body between the first device and the second device. In one embodiment, the signal may be an optical signal.

Preventing spoofing attacks for bone conduction applications

Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for preventing spoofing attacks for bone conduction applications. According to one aspect, a device can receive an authentication signal that has propagated through a body. The device can prevent an adversary from using the authentication signal to spoof a user to be authenticated by the device. The device can also authenticate the user.

The present disclosure relates to a transmission device and a transmission method, a reception device and a reception method, and a program that enable acquisition of accurate location information in an indoor environment. A reception device includes: an intra-body communication reception unit that receives location identification information from another device by a communication method using the human body as the communication medium, the location identification information being for identifying the location of the reception device; a location recognition unit that recognizes the current location of the reception device in accordance with the received location identification information; and a storage unit that stores the recognized current location. The present disclosure can be applied to transmission/reception devices and the like that perform communication by a communication method using the human body as the communication medium.

Time reversal interface generating an acoustic lubrication

A tactile stimulation interface comprising a surface explored by touch by means of a finger of a user, actuators applying forces on said surface, and control means of the actuators, said control means sending, to the actuators, signals corresponding to the forces to be applied to said surface, the forces being determined by a time reversal method, means for detecting the contact of the finger with the surface and for monitoring the movement of the finger on the surface. The control means are capable, in order to produce an acoustic lubrication effect in at least one given area of the surface, of generating a signal formed from a convolution of a pulsed response returned by a continuous function representative of the acoustic lubrication effect.

Ultrasonic multiplexing network for implantable medical devices

A system and method for transmitting data ultrasonically through biological tissue employs a network of a plurality of nodes, at least a portion of the nodes implantable within the biological tissue. At least one implanted node includes a transmitter having an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal generator to encode an ultrasonic signal for transmission through the biological tissue to an ultrasonic receiver at another node.

Pairing device
