Method and apparatus for analyzing communication environments and designing networks in consideration of trees
A method for identifying radio signal transmission characteristics in a wireless communication system and an apparatus therefor are provided. The method may include identifying a signal transmission site, identifying a signal reception site, finding an area where a tree is present between the signal transmission site and the signal reception site, checking characteristics of the crown of the tree and characteristics of the trunk of the tree, and examining transmission characteristics of a radio signal sent from the signal transmission site to the signal reception site on the basis of the characteristics of the crown and the trunk. The method and apparatus relate to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for internet of things (IoT), and may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication and the IoT-related technologies.
Wideband spectrum analyzer
A wideband spectrum analyzer includes at least one signal input, and at least one signal channel with a first filter module and a second filter module. The first filter module and the second filter module are connected with the at least one signal input downstream of the at least one signal input in a series connection. The first filter module includes first switches, and several different highpass filters being arranged in a parallel connection. The first switches are configured to selectively connect one of the highpass filters with an input of the first filter module and an output of the first filter module. The second filter module includes second switches, and several different lowpass filters being arranged in a parallel connection. The second switches are configured to selectively connect one of the lowpass filters with an input of the second filter module and an output of the second filter module.
Wideband spectrum analyzer
A wideband spectrum analyzer includes at least one signal input, and at least one signal channel with a first filter module and a second filter module. An operating method of a power estimation apparatus comprising a fixed antenna and a mobile antenna may comprise: a first operation of obtaining N measurement values by receiving a signal from signal sources using the fixed antenna and the mobile antenna that moves at a speed v from a first point to an Nth point; a second operation of generating a two-dimensional (2D) data collection set comprising N×M measurement values, by repeating the first operation M times; applying an approximation singular value decomposition (SVD) algorithm to the 2D data collection set; and obtaining information of the signal sources based on an application result of the approximation SVD algorithm, wherein N and M are natural numbers.

Horn antennas for use in a radio frequency anechoic test chamber
A horn antenna configured for use in a radio frequency (RF) anechoic test chamber is provided. The horn antenna includes one or more conductive radiating elements. The horn antenna further includes an electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppressing material covering at least a portion of a surface of the one or more conductive radiating elements such that the EMI suppressing material at least partially suppresses a surface current associated with the surface of the one or more conductive radiating elements during a test operation.

A horn antenna configured for use in a radio frequency (RF) anechoic test chamber is provided. The horn antenna includes one or more conductive radiating elements. The horn antenna further includes an electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppressing material covering at least a portion of a surface of the one or more conductive radiating elements such that the EMI suppressing material at least partially suppresses a surface current associated with the surface of the one or more conductive radiating elements during a test operation.
REDUNDANCY IN A PUBLIC SAFETY DISTRIBUTED ANTENNA SYSTEM
A redundancy system for data transport in a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) includes a plurality of Digital Access Units (DAUs). Each of the plurality of DAUs is fed by a plurality of data streams and is operable to transport digital signals between others of the plurality of DAUs. The redundancy system also includes a plurality of Digital Distribution Units (DDUs). Each of the plurality of DDUs is in communication with each of the plurality of DAUs using cross connection communication paths. The redundancy system further includes a plurality of Digital Remote Units (DRUs). Each of the plurality of DRUs is in communication with each of the plurality of DDUs using cross connection communications paths.
Prevention of Crosstalk During Single-Ended Line Testing
Examples pertaining to prevention of crosstalk during single-ended line testing are described. In a far-end crosstalk (FEXT) cancelled single-point-to-multi-point time-division duplexing (TDD) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system, a first communication device may signal a plurality of second communication devices that there is a quiet period where one port of multiple ports of the first communication device will transmit zero energy on a plurality of communications channels between the first communication device and the second communication devices. The first communication device may transmit a stimulus on a selected port during the quiet period. The first communication device may derive loop parameters from an echo response of the stimulus. The first communication device may be communicatively coupled to the plurality of second communication devices, with each of at least some of the multiple ports of the first communication device is connected to a respective one of the second devices through a crosstalk affected channel of the plurality of communication channels.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING SPECTRUM INFORMATION
An improved system architecture for making spectrum information available to one or more devices and for providing and using the spectrum information at a device. The improved architecture employs an arrangement of software processes that interact to provide a flexible and highly-configurable technique for controlling access to spectrum information. To that end, a spectrum information server executes a server process having a library of spectrum-related functions including, for example, functions for retrieving spectrum data from spectrum data sources and/or for processing retrieved spectrum data. The spectrum information server also executes one or more device host processes configured to communicate with at least one compatible device process executing on a spectrum-aware (SA) device. In an illustrative embodiment, a device process on the SA device may request spectrum information from a device host process on the spectrum information server. The device host process receives the request and may generate a function call that it sends to the server process, which executes an associated function from its library of spectrum-related functions. The execution of the function may cause the server process to retrieve certain spectrum data from a spectrum data source. The server process may return the retrieved spectrum data to the device host process, which in turn sends the requested spectrum information to the device process for presentation to a user.
