Polymer substrate retinal patch coated with adhesives
Several embodiments disclosed herein relate to compositions and methods for treating or repairing damage to ocular tissue. In particular, several embodiments relate to patches that interact, e.g., by way of an adhesive, with damaged retinal tissue to repair or mend a hole, tear or detachment of the retina from underlying ocular tissue. Still additional embodiments relate to self-assembling patches.
SILK FIBROIN BIOCOMPATIBLE POLYURETHANE MEMBRANES
The present invention relates to the preparation of a membrane for use in the repair of the middle ear including perforations and damage to the tympanic membrane. More particularly, the invention provides for compositions and methods for preparing silk fibroin biocompatible polyurethane membranes using a solvent, which have improved biodegradation, mechanical and vibroacoustic properties.
Integrated organ and tissue printing methods, system and apparatus
A method of making an organ or tissue comprises: (a) providing a first dispenser containing a structural support polymer and a second dispenser containing a live cell-containing composition; (b) depositing a layer on said support from said first and second dispenser, said layer comprising a structural support polymer and said cell-containing composition; and then (c) iteratively repeating said depositing step a plurality of times to form a plurality of layers one on another, with separate and discrete regions in each of said layers comprising one or the other of said support polymer or said cell-containing composition, to thereby produce provide a composite three dimensional structure containing both structural support regions and cell-containing regions. Apparatus for carrying out the method and composite products produced by the method are also described.
DELIVERY SYSTEM
Provided herein is a delivery system, including: (a) an optical sensor configured to detect data to create a map of a patient bodily surface; and (b) a dispenser operatively associated with the optical sensor and configured to deliver compositions (optionally including cells) to the patient bodily surface based upon the data or map. Methods of forming a tissue on a patient bodily surface of a patient in need thereof are also provided, as are methods, systems and computer program products useful for processing patient bodily surface data.
Vascular Extracellular Matrix Hydrogel
Provided herein are methods of making an ECM gel from vascular tissue. Also provided herein are ECM compositions prepared from vascular tissue, and methods of use of those compositions, for example in treatment of aneurysms, and for vascularization or re-vascularization.
Stacked tissue encapsulation device systems with or without oxygen delivery
Systems featuring two or more encapsulation devices stacked together. The encapsulation devices house cells, such as but not limited to islet cells or stem cell derived beta cells or the like. e.g., for regulating blood glucose, or other cells or spheroids that can produce and release a therapeutic agent that is useful in the body, etc. The system may feature oxygen delivery, or in some cases no exogenous oxygen is delivered and vascularization of the device can help provide oxygen and other needed nutrient to the cells. The system of the present invention may be used in conjunction with other therapies such as an artificial pancreas. Stacking the devices with blood vessel formation around and in between them may allow for a decrease in the footprint that would be needed for implantation.
Protection and Delivery of Multiple Therapeutic Proteins
Compositions are provided herein comprising a coacervate of a polycationic polymer, a polyanionic polymer, and platelet-rich plasma and/or serum, or a fraction or concentrate thereof. The composition is useful in wound healing. Compositions also are provided that comprise a hydrogel comprising TIMP-3; and a complex of a polycationic polymer, a polyanionic polymer, FGF-2 and SDF-1α embedded in the hydrogel, which is useful in treating a myocardial infarction.
Osteochondral scaffold
There is described a multiphasic osteochondral scaffold for osteochondral defect repair, the scaffold comprising a bone phase and a cartilage phase, wherein the bone phase comprises a support matrix and the cartilage phase comprises a polymeric matrix, and the scaffold comprises a non-porous layer between the bone phase and the cartilage phase. Also described is a multiphasic osteochondral scaffold for osteochondral defect repair, the scaffold comprising a bone phase and a cartilage phase, wherein the bone phase comprises a support matrix and the cartilage phase comprises a polymeric matrix, and wherein the support matrix is tapered so that the dimensions of the support matrix are less at the lower end of the support matrix than at the upper end of the support matrix.
Three dimensional tracheal substitute replacing respiratory organs and method of producing the same
The present invention relates to a bellows framework having a concave-convex structure on at least one of outer and inner sides using three-dimensional printing technology and a method of producing thereof, and an artificial tracheal replacement comprising an epithelium part formed on the inner side of the bellows framework and an annular cartilage part formed along the circumference of concave-convex grooves on the outer side and a method of producing thereof.
