A radio broadcast system and method can assist employees in a hydrocarbon field that is compliance monitored using a checkpoint monitor installed therein. A radio transmitter located on the checkpoint monitor is configured to transmit a broadcast signal including a radio program, in a selected radio broadcast band, to be received by a radio device on a vehicle occupied by the employees of the compliance monitored hydrocarbon field. The radio program includes company rules and regulations, safety related information and employee activity status and assignment status information for the hydrocarbon field.

Embodiments are directed towards a television system that utilizes a host device and television receiver to receive content via over-the-air television channels where the television receiver cannot directly receive over-the-air transmissions. The television receiver selects an over-the-air channel and provides the selection to the host device. The host device selects a television-white-space channel and provides the selection to the television receiver. The host device then receives content via the selected over-the-air channel, transcodes the content into wireless local area network data packets, and provides the transcoded content to the television receiver using the selected television-white-space channel. The television receiver receives the content via the selected television-white-space channel over the wireless local area network and provides it to a display device for display to a user.

A method and system for specifying content of interest using a digital radio broadcast receiver is described. A digital radio broadcast signal includes an alternate way of distributing content-rich Advertisements over the digital radio broadcast networks and rebroadcast these Advertisements over technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and the like to smart devices. A digital out-of-home network system will act as a bridge to relay the received Advertisements to smart devices.

According to an embodiment, a broadcast relay assistance device, includes a memory that stores broadcast audio data corresponding to input broadcast audio signals in a chronological order; and an output unit that reads, from the memory, based on an anomaly detection signal received from outside, the broadcast audio data corresponding to the broadcast audio signals that would have been broadcast during an anomaly detected period, and outputs the broadcast audio signals corresponding to the read broadcast audio data after an anomaly is resolved.

According to an embodiment, a broadcast relay assistance device, includes a memory that stores broadcast audio data corresponding to input broadcast audio signals in a chronological order; and an output unit that reads, from the memory, based on an anomaly detection signal received from outside, the broadcast audio data corresponding to the broadcast audio signals that would have been broadcast during an anomaly detected period, and outputs the broadcast audio signals corresponding to the read broadcast audio data after an anomaly is resolved.
