ANTENNA METER APP
20210112219 · 2021-04-15 ·

Disclosed is an over-the-air (OTA) antenna meter application (meter app) that wirelessly connects to an OTA antenna meter (meter) installed with an OTA antenna and presents information that facilitates a user in installing the OTA antenna at the premises of a customer. For example, the meter app can help the user in pointing and peaking the OTA antenna for one or more broadcast channels, e.g., those selected by the customer. The meter app can store installation information of the OTA antenna for various installations, which can be used in generating a recommendation of, or predicting, installation information for installing the OTA antenna at a specified address. The predicted installation information can include broadcast channels that would be available for reception at the specified address and their signal strength, a specific location of installation on the premises, or whether a pre-amplifier and/or filter is required.

Over-the-air radio broadcast signal metadata

Over-the-air radio broadcast signals are commonly used to deliver a variety of programming content (e.g., audio, etc.) to radio receiver systems. Supplemental data (e.g., metadata) may be provided to radio broadcast receiver systems, where such supplemental data is associated with the programming content delivered via the over-the-air radio broadcast signals. In exemplary embodiments described herein, a radio receiver system receives both (i) primary programming content via over-the-air radio broadcast transmission, and (ii) metadata related to the programming content via wireless Internet. This use of metadata provides a user with an enhanced experience regardless of the type of terrestrial broadcast signal that is received at the user's radio receiver system. Users receiving radio broadcast signals at a receiver system may view images, videos, multimedia displays, text, etc., that is related to the programming content received via the over-the-air radio broadcast signals.

Diagnosing faults in a multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) local area network (LAN) including a WiFi segment

A testing method is provided for diagnosing faults in a multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) local area network (LAN) including a WiFi segment. The method including, responsive to selection of a test sequence that includes testing of the WiFi segment, causing display of instructional images that depict how an operator couples the test hardware to a wireless component, invoking the test hardware to perform a test by automatically selecting, in dependence upon a problem generically identified by a user, a test and invoking the test, and automatically evaluating results returned by the test, without user interpretation of the results returned, to determine at least one of (i) whether to report a recommendation to replace/repair an identified component, and (ii) whether to (a) repeat the causing display of instructional images, (b) invoke the test hardware to perform an additional test and (c) automatically evaluate results returned by the additional test.

Signal processing device and image display apparatus including the same

The present invention relates to a signal processing apparatus and an image display apparatus including the same. The signal processing apparatus for processing a baseband signal demodulated from an RF signal, includes: a synchronizer; a channel estimator; an equalizer; an error corrector to perform error correction based on a signal output from the equalizer; and a mean square error calculator to calculate a mean square error based on a difference between an input signal from the equalizer and a reference signal, wherein when the RF signal includes a co-channel interference signal, the error corrector performs error correction by using a mean square error in a time domain or mean square errors in a time domain and a spatial domain. Accordingly, a baseband signal, from which a defect is removed, may be obtained in response to various communication channels or broadcast channels.
