09807432 · 2017-10-31 · ·

A method for transmitting services information in a broadcasting network by at least one managing center towards a plurality of receivers connected on one hand to a digital data streams broadcasting network of DVB type and on the other hand to a digital data streams broadcasting network of IP type, said streams comprising content data of the services and additional information data on said services structured in tables adapted to the transmission protocol specific to each type of network. The method comprises the steps of exploring the streams broadcasted by the network of type DVB and the streams broadcasted by the network of type IP and extracting services information from these streams, completing an information table, situated at the highest level in the hierarchy of the services information tables, included in the service information DVB-SI transmitted by the DVB network by services information related to the IP network, and transmitting the completed information table in the streams broadcasted by the DVB network towards the receivers having two switchable receiving modules, connected respectively to a DVB and an IP services broadcasting network. The receivers are able to activate the reception of digital data of a service, equivalent to the service currently received, with a second receiving module when the receiving conditions by the first receiving module are degraded.

BROADCAST RECEIVER

A broadcast receiver is capable of automatically switching to an applicable frequency of a radio station in a region, and stores plural geocodes related respectively to area blocks of the region, and plural frequencies related the radio station and each corresponding to one of the area codes. The broadcast receiver obtains a geographic coordinate set when a radio signal currently received from the radio station has poor quality. Then, the broadcast receiver converts the coordinate set to a geocode, finds an area code corresponding to the geocode, and receives the radio signal from the radio station on the frequency corresponding to the area code.

SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF FOR ADDING MULTIMEDIA CONTENT ELEMENTS TO CHANNELS BASED ON CONTEXT

A system and method for generating channels of multimedia content element. The method includes correlating between a plurality of signatures of the multimedia content to determine a plurality of contexts; correlating the plurality of contexts to determine a plurality of assumptions for the multimedia content element; clustering the assumptions to create at least one story cluster characterizing a situation featured in the multimedia content element; and adding the multimedia content element to at least one channel, wherein the at least one channel is determined based on the at least one story cluster.

ASYMMETRIC MULTI-DESTINATION TRAFFIC REPLICATION IN OVERLAY NETWORKS

Presented herein are hybrid approaches to multi-destination traffic forwarding in overlay networks that can be used to facilitate interoperability between head-end-replication-support network devices (i.e., those that only use head-end-replication) and multicast-support network devices (i.e., those that only use native multicast). By generally using existing tunnel end-points (TEPs) supported functionality for sending multi-destination traffic and enhancing the TEPs to receive multi-destination traffic with the encapsulation scheme they do not natively support, the presented methods and systems minimize the required enhancements to achieve interoperability and circumvents any hard limitations that the end-point hardware may have. The present methods and systems may be used with legacy hardware that are commissioned or deployed as well as new hardware that are configured with legacy protocols.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHARING IMAGES

A system and method for sharing an image showing at least one person. The method includes generating at least one signature for the image; determining, based on the generated at least one signature, at least one personal identifier of each of the at least one person, wherein each personal identifier uniquely identifies the respective person; searching, using the determined personal identifiers, for at least one sharing identifier in at least one data source, wherein each sharing identifier indicates information for sharing the image with one of the at least one person; and sending a notification indicating the image using the at least one sharing identifier.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIGNATURE-BASED CLUSTERING OF MULTIMEDIA CONTENT ELEMENTS

A system and method for signature-based clustering of multimedia content elements. The method includes generating at least one signature for a first multimedia content element; determining, based on the generated at least one signature, at least one tag for the first multimedia content element; searching, using the determined at least one tag, for at least one matching multimedia content element cluster in at least one data source, wherein each multimedia content element cluster includes a plurality of clustered multimedia content elements sharing a common concept; and adding the first multimedia content element to each matching multimedia content element cluster.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING DRIVING ALERTS BASED ON MULTIMEDIA CONTENT

A system and method for determining driving decisions based on multimedia content. The method includes obtaining, in real-time during a trip of a vehicle, a first set of multimedia content elements captured by at least one sensor deployed in proximity to the vehicle; and generating, in real-time, a driving alert, when it is determined that at least one signature generated for the first set of multimedia content elements matches at least one signature generated for a matching multimedia content element of a second set of multimedia content elements, wherein each of the second set of multimedia content elements is associated with a predetermined potential cause of collision.

Playback of media data at reduced speed

A method for reproducing, i.e., playing back, media data includes: receiving media data in a receive buffer; determining whether the receive buffer is sufficiently filled; reducing the playback speed over a period until the receive buffer is sufficiently filled, and playing back the media data at the reduced playback speed. The reduced playback speed has a speed profile having at least one non-linear section.
