METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTINUING A RUNNING PLAYBACK OF AUDIO AND/OR VIDEO CONTENT FROM A FIRST SOURCE AFTER A TEMPORARY INTERRUPTION OR OVERLAYING THE RUNNING PLAYBACK BY A PLAYBACK OF AUDIO AND/OR VIDEO CONTENT FROM A SECOND SOURCE
20190213215 · 2019-07-11 ·

A method for continuing an ongoing reproduction of audio and/or video content from a first source after a temporary interruption to or overlay on the ongoing reproduction by a reproduction of audio and/or video content from a second source comprises storing a first time marking the beginning of an interruption to or overlay on the ongoing reproduction of the audio and/or video content from the first source with a reproduction of audio and/or video content from a second source. If the first source provides audio and/or video content received and reproduced substantially in real time, the received audio and/or video content is recorded at least from the first time onward. The end of the interruption or overlay is detected, and audio and/or video content from the first source or the recording is reproduced from a point consistent with the first time.

PERSONALIZED RADIO SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE

A personalized radio system includes a electronic device having a wireless chip and a recorder in communication with a data storage device; the wireless chip to scan for radio waves; a control system to obtain user preferences associated with audio data and utilize algorithms to create key points associated with the user preferences; and a queue of audio recordings accessible via the electronic device; the control system compares the key points associated with user preferences with the metadata of the radio waves to match the key points with one or more digital identifiers of the metadata; the control system facilitates recording of audio data having one or more digital identifiers that match the key points onto the data storage device and into the queue such that the audio data can be played back a single time before being removed from the queue and data storage device.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AVOIDING SPOILERS IN PRESENTING RECORDING PROMPTS RELATING TO A COMPETITION
20190191199 · 2019-06-20 ·

Systems and methods are described for a media guidance application (e.g., implemented on a user device) that avoids spoilers in presenting recording prompts relating to a competition by scheduling presentation of notifications according to the user profile.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR USING SELECTED CONTENT TRACKS FROM TWO OR MORE PROGRAM CHANNELS TO AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE A BLENDED MIX CHANNEL FOR PLAYBACK TO A USER UPON SELECTION OF A CORRESPONDING PRESET BUTTON ON A USER INTERFACE

A method and apparatus are provided for generating a personalized radio channel playlist by simultaneously buffering multiple received channels from one or more source streams, and then selecting songs or tracks to playback from the buffered channels. Users can specify favorite channels for building their personal playlists, or multiple default playlist channels can be provided by genre or channels related in some other way. Navigation tools permit users to skip ahead and backward in the playback stream. A personalized radio channel playlist can be implemented as (1) content selected from buffered channels based on user preferences for artists, songs and the like, or (2) as a Mix Channel in which content from selected buffered channels is automatically mixed for playback in response to selection of a preset button assigned to the Mix Channel.

Methods of providing advertisements in traffic channels and supporting apparatus, readable medium, and data structure

A technique of providing advertisements in a traffic message is provided that obtains (704) traffic data having a traffic condition of a location description on a road network. A location reference code associated with the location description assigned by a traffic message supplier and an advertising reference code associated with the location reference code are assessed (706), (714), followed by a determination (716) as to whether the advertising reference code is present. If so, a traffic message having the location reference code and the advertising reference code is generated (710).

Method of audio/video broadcast play out handover and corresponding apparatus

Handover of broadcast audio/video content from a first/source device via an intermediate device to a second/destination device. The intermediate device is set up to receive by its own means the same broadcast audio/video content as received by the first/source device. If interruption of play out of the audio/video content by the first/source device is detected by the intermediate device, the intermediate device stores the received audio/video broadcast in timeshift memory. When a presence of the second/destination is detected, the intermediate device connects to the second/destination device and starts timeshifted streaming to the second/destination device.

Contents reception device and method, contents transmission device and method, program, and recording medium

The present invention relates to a contents reception device and method, a contents transmission device and method, a program, and a recording medium, whereby a Push-type NRT service can be realized. Ch. 4 is taken as a broadcasting channel for normal broadcasting, and Ch. 5 and Ch. 6 are taken as broadcasting channels for NRT. The broadcasting channel Ch. 5 is multiplexed on logical channels VC5-1, VC5-2, and VC5-3. The logical channel VC5-1 is assigned to a single Push-type NRT broadcasting service, and VC5-2 is assigned to a Pull-type NRT broadcast. The logical channel VC5-3 is assigned to another Push-type NRT broadcasting service. Three FLUTE sessions are provided to VC5-2.

Method and apparatus for distribution of media content via multiple access technologies

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a cost-efficient wireless framework for delivering TV services (e.g., live TV services). The wireless framework can include a mix of wireless access technologies (e.g. Satellite, WiFi and/or LTE overlay links). TV content (e.g., live TV content) can be injected into the network at a few locations (e.g., residential locations) using satellite antennas (e.g., satellite dishes). The content can then be further distributed to other homes using a house-to-house WiFi network and/or via an overlay LTE network. Other embodiments are disclosed.
