Methods and systems for utilizing millimeter-wave radio components in synthesizing microwave signals
Systems and methods for utilizing millimeter-wave radio components in synthesizing microwave signals. A first up-conversion frequency generated using millimeter-wave radio components is used to up-convert a baseband signal into a first millimeter-wave signal, which is then down-converted into a microwave signal using a second and lower down-conversion frequency generated using additional millimeter-wave radio components. Using millimeter-wave conversion frequencies allows for tight integration of multiple transmission and reception chains while facilitating good coexistence of different microwave channels, and further allows for a wide span of frequencies over which microwave transmissions can be made.
TIME-ALIGNMENT MEASURMENT FOR HYBRID HD TM RADIO TECHNOLOGY
A method for processing audio signals in a radio transmitter, includes: receiving an analog audio sample stream and a digital audio sample stream; determining offsets in time between the analog audio stream and the digital audio stream using a normalized cross-correlation of audio envelopes of the analog audio sample stream and the digital audio sample stream; filtering the determined offsets in time to produce filtered offset values; determining an alignment slip adjustment value as a function of the filtered offset values; aligning the analog audio sample stream and the digital audio sample stream using the determined alignment slip adjustment value; and generating a hybrid radio signal for broadcast that includes time-aligned analog audio and digital audio.

Demodulation apparatus, reception apparatus, and demodulation method
A demodulation apparatus according to the present disclosure includes an analog audio demodulator, a digital audio demodulator, a selection circuit, and a noise addition circuit. The analog audio demodulator demodulates a received signal of an analog radio broadcast wave into an analog audio signal and outputs the analog audio signal. The digital audio demodulator demodulates a received signal of a digital radio broadcast wave into a digital audio signal and outputs the digital audio signal, the analog/digital radio broadcast waves including audio signals indicative of a same content and being broadcasted simultaneously. The selection circuit selects either the analog audio signal or the digital audio signal. The noise addition circuit adds noise to the digital audio signal in a first period including a switching period for switching from a state where the analog audio signal is selected to a state where the digital audio signal is selected.

DETERMINING TIME OFFSET IN AUDIO STREAMS
A radio receiver is disclosed. The radio receiver includes a plurality of receiving ports to receive identical audio streams, a history buffer and a controller for retrieving information from a first stream in the plurality of identical audio streams that is received first. the controller is configured to store the retrieved information in the history buffer and compare the stored information with an information about a second stream in the plurality of identical audio streams to determine a time offset between the first stream and the second stream.

Content capture and distribution system
Content capture and distribution systems and techniques are described. In an example, radio frequency signals that carry content are captured by one or more antennas of a content capture system. The content is converted from radio frequency signals the carry the content into an internet protocol format by the content capture system. The converted content is transmitted by the content capture system via a network transfer protocol (e.g., HTTP) for receipt by a content distribution system via a network. The converted content is configured by the content distribution system for streaming via a network streaming protocol. The content is then streamed by the content distribution system via the network using the network streaming protocol for receipt and rendering by at least one client device.

Broadcast receiver
To provide a technology of updating a broadcast station list capable of both shortening a searching time and deleting an unreceivable broadcast station. A broadcast receiver includes a processor and an associated memory configured to: control a tuner to scan a predetermined frequency band and search for a receivable broadcast station in the predetermined frequency band; and create a list including at least the receivable broadcast station by acquiring information of the receivable broadcast station. When there is a second receivable digital broadcast station at a frequency corresponding to a first digital broadcast station that already exists in the list when scanning, the processor omits acquisition of broadcast station information of the second digital broadcast station and uses broadcast station information of the first digital broadcast station that exists in the list as information of the second digital broadcast station.
