An apparatus includes a plurality of content sources providing content relevant to an event at a venue, one or more wireless access points positioned at the venue, a plurality of servers distributing the content signals to the wireless access points, and a plurality of wireless communication devices, each using a browser to retrieve the content through one of the wireless access points. A method performed by the apparatus is also provided.

This disclosure relates to a devices and methods related to satellite information broadcasting. Example embodiments may include frequency shifting an intermediate frequency (IF) signal down-conversion from the microwave-band. As an example, down-conversion involving local oscillators may lead to frequency drift due to varying temperature and/or humidity conditions. Correcting for the frequency drift may provide an opportunity to remove or filter excess bandwidth. Further embodiments may include receiving, in a tuning request, information about a transponder type. A frequency translation module may be adjusted based, at least in part, on the transponder type related to the IF signal being input into the frequency translation module. Such frequency-shifting and transponder-specific filtering may allow Single-Wire Multiswitch (SWM) devices to provide output signals with narrower bandwidth, which may improve signal quality, cable run length, reduce power demands, etc.

An object of the present invention is to provide a system that allows a user to preset a desired TV program for unattended recording by use of a PDA. A PDA acquires from a TV program information service provider TV program information by which to preset a desired TV program to be recorded unattended. When the user selects relevant TV information about the desired program, the PDA sends to a personal computer the information for presetting the TV program of interest for subsequent unattended recording. Based of the preset information sent from the PDA, the personal computer presets the specified TV program to be recorded unattended.

A public location individual audio delivery device and method allows individual access and control to audio associated with a visual presentation within a public location. The device includes a display located in a public location. A receiver is coupled to the display and receives video for presentation on the display. The receiver receives audio associated to the video. A transmitter is coupled to the display and is communicatively coupled to the receiver. The transmitter transmits the audio associated to the video as an audio signal through a personal access network within the public location. At least one personal audio device is positioned within the public location accessing and receiving the audio signal through the personal access network wherein the audio associated to the video is played on the personal audio device.

A system enables desired information to be delivered to, or jump into a portable information terminal such as a smartphone which is carried by a user, without relying on GPS or network environment. A technique for offering a reward to an audience member tuned to a broadcast signal which is performed by reproduction equipment, the broadcast signal having commercial content, program content, and commercial content identification codes respectively corresponding to advertisements contained in the commercial content, wherein the audience member captures the commercial content identification codes from the performed broadcast signal and actuates storing of a segment of a program content from the performed broadcast signal. The technique identifies the program based on the segment thereof that was stored in response to the command, and offers the audience member a reward related to the identified program.
