A cell transplanting kit includes a transplant including a cell group and a cell transplanting device. The cell transplanting device includes a needle-shaped portion that extends in a shape of a tube, and an aspiration portion configured to aspirate an interior of the needle-shaped portion. The needle-shaped portion is configured to attract the transplant by aspiration by the aspiration portion and take the transplant into the interior. The aspiration portion is configured to create an aspiration pressure in a range of −100 kPa to −0.1 kPa. The transplant includes a protection portion in a form of a gel covering at least a part of the cell group. The transplant has an outer diameter that is greater than or equal to a minimum value of the inner diameter of the needle-shaped portion. The protection portion has a jelly strength of greater than or equal to 100 g.

This document describes a process of producing gel microparticles, which are consistent in size and morphology. Through the process of coacervation, large volumes of gel microparticle slurry can be produced by scaling up reactor vessel size. Particles can be repeatedly dehydrated and rehydrated in accordance to their environment, allowing for the storage of particles in a non-solvent such as ethanol. Gel slurries exhibit a Bingham plastic behavior in which the slurry behaves as a solid at shear stresses that are below a critical value. Upon reaching the critical shear stress, the slurry undergoes a rapid decrease in viscosity and behaves as a liquid. The rheological behavior of these slurries can be adjusted by changing the compaction processes such as centrifugation force to alter the yield-stress. The narrower distribution and reduced size of these particles allows for an increase in FRESH printing fidelity.

ARTHROSCOPIC ACL REPAIR SYSTEM AND METHOD

An arthroscopic system for the repair of a ruptured anterior cruciate is provided. Aspects of the invention include a scaffold attached by a suture to an fixation device and inserted into a repair site via arthroscopic equipment. The scaffold and suture are further secured near or at the repair site via arthroscopic equipment having an elongated delivery member that contains the scaffold and suture prior to inserting the scaffold and suture into the repair site.
