According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a transmission method for enabling transmission of content using a broadcast and a communication channel includes: transmitting playback control information and service information using at least the broadcast wave, the service information being information for playing back content transmission using the broadcast and content transmission using the communication channel when the content is transmitted using the broadcast and the communication channel. The service information includes the content and location information that indicates a location for acquiring meta-information on playback control of the second content. The playback control information includes indexes of a relationship between the first content data and the second content data.

The various embodiments disclosed herein provide methods, systems, and devices for capturing broadcast streams, analyzing the broadcast streams to obtain information about the media content transmitted in the broadcast streams, obtaining additional information about the media content if available, and assigning a unique event identifier specific to the instance of broadcast of the broadcast stream and/or media segment transmitted in the broadcast stream. In other embodiments, the unique event identifier is broadcasted to broadcast receiving devices. With the unique event identifier, broadcast receiving devices can access the obtained information associated with the media content.

Apparatuses for playing signals received from the internet or other information highway on one or more speakers are described. The apparatus has a receiver for receiving information from preselected addresses; a processor for interpreting the signals; and at least one speaker for playing signals from the internet. There is at least one holographic projector connected to the receiver for projecting a holographic image received from the internet. The processor selects images that correspond with the signals played by the speaker.

A dynamic broadcast system as well as a terminal and a control device for use in such a dynamic broadcast system are presented. Transmission parameters, transmission times and transmission paths used for broadcasting and providing content, either via a broadcast network or a broadband network to terminals used in the dynamic broadcast system are dynamically controlled. The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a broadcast signal. The method for receiving a broadcast signal comprises: generating a broadcast stream including at least one program; generating first program table information that represents the broadcast stream; receiving non-real time (NRT) service schedule information; generating second program table information that represents the NRT service, in accordance with the received NRT service schedule information; configuring a stream including the broadcast stream, the 1st program table information and the second program table information; and transmitting the stream.

Disclosed herein is a receiving device for receiving AV contents, the receiving device including: an obtaining section configured to obtain a description document described in a program language for displaying contents from a server present on a network connected with the receiving device; a determining section configured to determine whether the obtained the description document is obtained from a first server managed on a broadcaster side broadcasting the AV contents; and a controlling section configured to control execution of the obtained the description document according to a result of determination by the determining section.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including medium-encoded computer program products, for adaptive content distribution using private encoded audio identifiers are described. The techniques can include receiving event data that indicates that a digital component with an audio signature was transmitted to a display device. The event data can also include a time at which the digital component was transmitted. A content request can be received from a different client device and can include data representative of a captured audio signature and the time at which the audio signature was captured. In response to determining that the content request is requesting content related to the digital component based at least on (i) a determination that the audio signature matches the audio signature of the digital component and (ii) a determination that the time are within a threshold duration, the content related to the digital component can be sent to the client device.

The present disclosure relates to a system implemented in a digital TV receiver that provides a broadcaster with a reliable method of ingesting alternative video and/or audio content received through a broadband connection, replacing parts of the main video and/or audio content, received from the broadcast transmission signal, aiming to customize the consumer's experience during digital video and/or audio consumption. The system regularly evaluates the digital TV receiver's environment parameters that may vary at any time, as well as its connection to the Internet. Sufficient requirements for the replacement process are met, namely the quality and completeness required for reproducing the alternative video and/or audio content, so as to provide success and quality of such reproduction, improving consumer experience without experiencing failures, interruptions, lack of fluidity or lack of consistency, effectively equating the consumption experience of the alternative content to the same level of quality standard as the main content.
