SIGNALING OF IDENTITY FOR RADIO ACCESS NETWORKS
There is disclosed a method of operating a network node in a radio access network, the method including transmitting an identity indication, the identity indication indicating an identity associated to the network node representing an identity out of a set of identities larger than the set of physical cell identities representable by synchronisation signaling. The disclosure also pertains to related devices and methods.
MAPPING A CONTROL RESOURCE TO A PHYSICAL CELL
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable one or both of a base station or a user equipment (UE) to identify one or more physical cell identifiers (PCIs) for a scheduled communication, using an association between the one or more PCIs and a control resource set (CORESET), for example, used to transmit a grant scheduling the communication. The base station may identify a mapping between one or more PCIs associated with a communication and may transmit, to the UE, a grant scheduling the communication on a CORESET associated with the one or more PCIs. The UE may identify a mapping between the CORESET and the one or more PCIs associated with the communication based on receiving the grant in the CORESET. The UE and the base station may communicate a message scheduled by the grant using parameters associated with the one or more identified PCIs.
APPLYING ZERO ELEMENT BEAM IN SEARCH AND MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE FOR POWER SAVINGS IN MMW
This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for applying a zero element beam to conserve power in search and measurement operations of a UE. The UE may determine to measure a set of SSBs, where each SSB of the set of SSBs is transmitted on four symbols, and further determine a subset of the SSBs for which less than the four symbols associated with the SSBs are to be used for measurement of the SSBs. The UE may measure each SSB of the subset of the SSBs through less than the four symbols associated with the SSB.
Cell search of user equipment in accordance with cell search slots associated with groups of base stations
A base station configured to operate in accordance with a periodically repeated synchronization period is provided. The synchronization period comprises a plurality of successive pilot slots, the pilot slots being associated with groups of base stations in a one-to-one relationship. The base station is configured to be a member of a first group among the groups of base stations and to transmit, in each repetition of the synchronization period, one or more pilot signals in the pilot slot associated with the first group.
METHODS AND RELATED DEVICES FOR SECONDARY NODE ADDITION
A mobile communication device and a method performed by a mobile communication device are provided. The method includes receiving, from a device, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message when a Signaling Radio Bearer 3 (SRB3) connection with a secondary node has not been established, the RRC connection reconfiguration message including Secondary Cell Group (SCG) information; and initiating establishing the SRB3 connection with the secondary node according to the RRC connection reconfiguration message.
Method for transmitting uplink data in wireless communication system supporting narrowband internet of things, and apparatus therefor
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), uplink data in a wireless communication system supporting a narrowband Internet of things (NB-IoT) system includes: receiving information related to a preconfigured uplink (UL) resource (PUR) for transmitting the uplink data in an RRC connected state; and transmitting the uplink data by using the preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) in an RRC idle state. In the transmitting of the uplink data, when the preconfigured UL resource (PUR) is a dedicated resource and there is no data to be transmitted in the preconfigured UL resource (PUR), transmission of the uplink data is skipped.
Systems, methods, and apparatus for inactive state beam failure recovery
A method for beam failure recovery in a communication network may include detecting a beam failure based on a downlink transmission at a user equipment (UE) in an inactive state, and performing a beam failure recovery (BFR) procedure at the UE in the inactive state based on detecting the beam failure. The downlink transmission may include a reference signal. The reference signal may include a synchronization signal block, The reference signal may include a channel state information reference signal. Detecting the beam failure may include detecting the beam failure based on a beam failure measurement configuration. The method may further include receiving the beam failure measurement configuration at the UE. The UE may receive the beam failure measurement configuration based on a preconfigured uplink resources (PUR) response. The UE may receive the beam failure measurement configuration based on a system information block (SIB) transmission.
Adapting search, measurement, and loop tracking periodicities in new radio communications
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for adapting search, measurement, and loop tracking periodicities in new radio communications. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining, based on one or more parameters, a first periodicity to perform a search to detect one or more component carriers (CCs), cells, beams, or a combination thereof; a second periodicity to perform measurement of one or more cells, beams, or both in one more detected CCs; and a third periodicity to perform loop tracking to monitor a downlink serving quality, an uplink serving beam quality, or both of a cell. The method may further includes performing the search at the determined first periodicity, measurement at the determined second periodicity, and loop tracking at the determined third periodicity.
Enabling Multiple Numerologies in a Network
There is presented a method for enabling multiple numerologies in a network. The method is performed by a user equipment (UE) and comprises receiving system information in a first search space on a broadcast channel with a first numerology, determining a second search space from the received system information, and receiving further information in the second search space with a second numerology.
