A voice morphing apparatus having adjustable parameters is described. The disclosed system and method include a voice morphing apparatus that morphs input audio to mask a speaker's identity. Parameter adjustment uses evaluation of an objective function that is based on the input audio and output of the voice morphing apparatus. The voice morphing apparatus includes objectives that are based adversarially on speaker identification and positively on audio fidelity. Thus, the voice morphing apparatus is adjusted to reduce identifiability of speakers while maintaining fidelity of the morphed audio. The voice morphing apparatus may be used as part of an automatic speech recognition system.

DISTORTION REDUCTION CIRCUIT

An apparatus includes a sampling circuit, a sense circuit, and a tuning circuit. The sampling circuit samples an input signal according to a sampling clock signal to produce a sampled signal. The sense circuit determines a scaling factor based on a distortion in the sampled signal caused by the sampling clock signal. The tuning circuit generates an offset signal based on the sampling clock signal and the scaling factor. The offset signal reduces the distortion in the sampled signal caused by the sampling clock signal.

Systems and methods for ultra wideband impulse radio transceivers

Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology exploits modulated coded impulses over a wide frequency spectrum with very low power over a short distance for digital data transmission. Today's leading edge modulated sinusoidal wave wireless communication standards and systems achieve power efficiencies of 50 nJ/bit employing narrowband signaling schemes and traditional RF transceiver architectures. However, such designs severely limit the achievable energy efficiency, especially at lower data rates such as below 1 Mbps. Further, it is important that peak power consumption is supportable by common battery or energy harvesting technologies and long term power consumption neither leads to limited battery lifetimes or an inability for alternate energy sources to sustain them. Accordingly, it would be beneficial for next generation applications to exploit inventive transceiver structures and communication schemes in order to achieve the sub nJ per bit energy efficiencies required by next generation applications.

SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE

The present invention addresses the problem of improving data transmission/reception equipment and transmission efficiency per hour. A light output unit 111 of a light transmitting/receiving device outputs n optical signals (where n is an integer value of 2 or more), each with a different wavelength, based on n respective pieces of data to be transmitted. From the n optical signals, a multiplexer 112 produces an optical signal multiplexed with respect to wavelength. From the multiplexed optical signal, an encryption unit 113 produces an encrypted signal by performing multi-level modulation on the basis of a Y-00 protocol. The problem is solved thereby.

A technique for tamper protection of incoming data signal to an electronic device is disclosed. An intentional interference signal is generated and modulated onto the incoming data signal as one composite input signal, to prevent unauthorized acquisition of valid data from the incoming data signal. The magnitude of the interference signal is adjusted to correspond to the magnitude of the incoming data signal, thereby preventing an attacker from properly differentiating the two different signals and/or decoding the valid data from the composite input signal. Once the composite input signal is safely received within the device, the interference signal can be filtered out in either analog mode or digital mode.

Methods, apparatuses, and systems that compensate for communication excursions in multipath communication systems (e.g. MIMO communication systems) while satisfying performance requirements parameters of the communication system. A plurality of communication signals may be received in a transmitter. The plurality of communication signals may be precoded (e.g. mixed) into a plurality of precoded communication signals. Excursions in the precoded communication signals may be scaled to generate a plurality of excursion compensated precoded communication signals. The scaling may be based on performance requirements parameters of a communication system and based on parameters of the precoding the plurality of communication signals. The plurality of excursion compensated precoded communication signals may then be amplified by a plurality of amplifiers.

In one embodiment, the control symbols are associated with an HDMI interface, and the methods and apparatus are configured to scramble the symbols to as to mitigate the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) created by the transmission of otherwise unscrambled sequences of symbols which may contain significant “clock pattern” or other undesirable artifact.

Signals transmitted on the backhaul links of a cloud radio access network may be compressed using joint compression encoding. Joint compression encoding may be performed using a successive estimation-compression architecture. Joint compression encoding may include designing preceding matrices that may be used with signal compression. Joint compression encoding may be applied to signals transmitted on the downlink of the cloud radio access network. One or more baseband signals to be delivered over the backhaul links may be jointly compressed using multivariate compression. Multivariate compression may be implemented using successive compression based on a sequence of minimum mean squared error (MMSE) estimations and per BS compression.
