Method of bone regeneration
The present invention provides a method of bone regeneration for repairing a bone defect in a subject in need thereof. The method comprises the use of blood aspirate of the mandible bone marrow with the use of xenogen bone support.
METHODS OF PREPARING PERSONALIZED BLOOD VESSELS
The present disclosure relates to methods of preparing personalized blood vessels, useful for transplantation with improved host compatibility and reduced susceptibility to thrombosis. Also provided are personalized blood vessels produced by the methods and use thereof in surgery.
VACUUM FORMING OF THERMOPLASTIC BIOABSORBABLE SCAFFOLDS FOR USE IN AURICULAR RECONSTRUCTION
Provided is a polymeric auricular scaffold for use in auricular implants and methods for making them. The disclosed polymeric auricular scaffold is formed using a biocompatible polymer sheet that is vacuumed formed into a shape representing auricular cartilage using a vacuum forming mold.
Autologous bone graft substitute composition
An autologous bone graft substitute composition for inducing new bone formation, promoting bone growth and treating bone defects, a method of preparation thereof, and a method of inducing or promoting bone growth by treatment of a bone with an autologous bone graft substitute composition. The composition includes autologous blood; one or more analogs of an osteogenic bone morphogenetic protein selected from BMP-6, BMP-2, BMP-7, BMP-4, BMP-5, BMP-8, BMP-9, BMP-12, and BMP-13, and combinations thereof; and a compression resistant matrix selected from the group consisting of a bone autograft, bone allograft, hydroxyapatite, tri-calcium phosphate, and combinations thereof. The autologous blood forms a coagulum gel comprising a fibrin-meshwork reinforced with the compression resistant matrix and containing the osteogenic bone morphogenetic protein which is released over a sustained period.
PLATELET LYSATE FOAM FOR CELL CULTURE, CELL THERAPY AND TISSULAR REGENERATION AND METHOD FOR OBATINING SAME
The present invention relates to a platelet lysate foam obtained from blood derivative (allogenic or autologous) which retains the biological properties of the platelet lysate and has optimal properties, in particular mechanical but also storage, which allow sale thereof and make handling thereof easier.
The present invention also relates to the use of a platelet lysate foam for therapeutic purposes, cell culture and cell therapy.
The present invention also relates to a process for getting a platelet lysate foam by a process of drying in a supercritical CO.sub.2 atmosphere.
HYDROGEL DEVICES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USE THEREOF
Disclosed herein are hydrogel devices and methods of making an use thereof. The devices can comprise: a continuous hydrogel matrix; a first chamber in the hydrogel matrix; and a second chamber in the hydrogel matrix; wherein the first chamber and the second chamber are each independently perfusable; wherein the first chamber is fluidly independent from the second chamber; wherein the first chamber is configured to be at least partially filled with adipose tissue; wherein the second chamber is configured to be at least partially filled with an oxygenated fluid; wherein the first chamber is defined by a first border; wherein the second chamber is defined by a second border; and wherein the first chamber and the second chamber are spaced apart from each other by an average distance of from 50 micrometers (microns, μm) to 800 μm as measured from the first border to the second border.
Method for instant lumbar spine fusion
A method for instant lumbar spine fusion between two vertebrae in a patient includes establishing under X-ray fluoroscopy the location of the transpedicular notch of the next lower vertebra in caudal direction, making a percutaneous incision to the transpedicular notch, inserting a cannulated guide, drilling a transpedicular approach from the pedicle of the lower vertebra to the anterior part of the vertebral body of the vertebrae above the disc to be treated, inserting a working cannula through the previously drilled approach reaching the intervertebral disk, cleaning and scrapping the intervertebral disk space, inserting transpedicularly at least one intervertebral stabilizing screw, and acting on both intervertebral screws with screwdrivers in order to distract or contract both screws allowing to adjust or correct the intervertebral distance of the disk. The method can be performed on an outpatient basis.
IN VITRO METHOD FOR CREATING A VIABLE CONNECTIVE TISSUE AND/OR OSSEOUS TISSUE
The present invention relates to an in vitro method for creating a viable connective tissue and/or osseous tissue obtained by tribological solicitations of a biological culture. It further relates to a viable connective tissue and/or osseous tissue susceptible to be obtained by said method as well as to the use of said method or viable connective tissue and/or osseous tissue to prepare a biological implant.
COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATMENT OF ASHERMAN'S SYNDROME, METHODS FOR PREPARING THE SAME AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present disclosure generally relates to the field of infertility, and in particular female infertility. Accordingly, the present disclosure provides for compositions and methods for managing female infertility, caused by Asherman's syndrome. More particularly, the present disclosure provides a therapeutic composition comprising a platelet-derived growth factor concentrate and a thermoresponsive polymer. The present disclosure also relates to the PRP and the concentrate themselves. Consequently, methods to obtain said compositions, along with therapeutic applications for treatment of Asherman's syndrome are also provided.
