The enterprise-specific configuration data includes the gateway information. The edge device is communicatively coupled with a gateway in the cloud-computing network. The communicatively coupling of the edge device with the gateway includes a multipath (MP) protocol.

Recipient identification for fifth generation communication

Identification of communication participants may be an important aspect of various communication systems. For example, fifth generation (5G) wireless communication systems may benefit from suitable recipient identification. A method can include obtaining data bits to be communicated to a target device. The method can also include obtaining identification bits corresponding to at least one of sender or receiver of the data bits. The method can further include multiplexing the data bits with the identification bits.

Methods and apparatuses for enhancing vehicle range in a unmanned aircraft system is disclosed herein. An implementation of the method includes establishing a wireless communication channel between an unmanned aircraft and an end point and transmitting data from the unmanned aircraft to the end point over the wireless communication channel. This transmission is done in accordance with a transmission configuration, which defines a Forward Error Correction (FEC) value and a retry rate. The method further includes receiving transmission statistics related to transmitting the data and modifying the transmission configuration at least in part in response to the transmission statistics. The method also includes transmitting further data from the unmanned aircraft to the end point over the wireless communication channel in accordance with the modified transmission configuration.

Code block segmentation and configuration for concatenated turbo and RS coding

A method for performing code block segmentation for wireless transmission using concatenated forward error correction encoding includes receiving a transport block of data for transmission having a transport block size, along with one or more parameters that define a target code rate. A number N of inner code blocks needed to transmit the transport block is determined. A number M-outer code blocks may be calculated based on the number of inner code blocks and on encoding parameters for the outer code blocks. The transport block may then be segmented and encoded according to the calculated encoding parameters.
