Transmitter apparatus and signal processing method thereof
A transmitter apparatus and a receiver apparatus are provided. The transmitter apparatus includes: an encoder configured to generate a low density parity check (LDPC) by performing LDPC encoding; an interleaver configured to interleave the LDPC codeword; and a modulator configured to map the interleaved LDPC codeword onto a modulation symbol. The modulator maps a bit included in a predetermined group from among a plurality of groups constituting the LDPC codeword onto a predetermined bit in the modulation symbol.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO MEASURE AND SCORE APPLICATION HEALTH VIA CORRECTABLE ERRORS
Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for monitoring application health via correctable errors. The method includes identifying, by a network device, a network packet associated with an application and detecting an error associated with the network packet. In response to detecting the error, the network device increments a counter associated with the application, determines an application score based at least in part on the counter, and telemeters the application score to a controller. The controller can generate a graphical interface based at least in part on the application score and a timestamp associated with the application score, wherein the graphical interface depicts a trend in correctable errors experienced by the application over a network.
ADAPTIVE CAUSAL NETWORK CODING WITH FEEDBACK
Techniques are disclosed for an adaptive and causal random linear network coding (AC-RLNC) with forward error correction (FEC) for a communication channel with delayed feedback. An example methodology implementing the techniques includes transmitting one or more coded packets in a communication channel, determining a channel behavior of the channel, and adaptively adjusting a transmission of a subsequent coded packet in the first channel based on the determined channel behavior. The communication channel may be a point-to-point communication channel between a sender and a receiver. The channel behavior may be determined based on feedback acknowledgements provided by the receiver. The subsequent coded packet may be a random linear combination of one or more information packets.
Increase in reach of unrepeatered fiber transmission
The present application is directed to techniques and systems for extension of unrepeatered submarine fiber links to provide an increase in reach of unrepeatered fiber transmission. Both single channel unrepeatered systems and multiple channel unrepeatered systems can be used. The multiple channel unrepeatered systems can further employ nonlinearity compensation. The present application is also directed to methods of signal transmission using the unrepeatered systems.
Dynamic frozen bits and error detection for polar codes
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for dynamic frozen bits of polar codes for early termination and performance improvement. A wireless device may receive a signal comprising a codeword encoded using a polar code. The wireless device may perform decoding of the codeword including at least: parity check of a first subset of decoding paths for making a decision on early termination of decoding of the codeword based on dynamic frozen bits, and generating path metrics for a second subset of the decoding paths that each pass the parity check based on the dynamic frozen bits, and performing error detection on a bit sequence corresponding to one of the second subset of the decoding paths based at part on error detection bits and the generated path metrics. The wireless device may process the information bits based on a result of the decoding.
Automatic negotiation of optical transceiver configuration parameters
Techniques for negotiating optical configuration parameters of transceivers are disclosed. In one example, a method may include outputting, by a first optical node to a second optical node, a negotiation request message that specifies a configuration parameter setting for optical transceivers, the setting comprising one of a speed, a forward error correction (FEC) scheme, a modulation type, a transmission power, a minimum central frequency, a maximum central frequency, a minimum input power, a maximum input power, or a signal-to-noise ratio threshold; receiving, by the first optical node from the second optical node, in response to the negotiation request message, a negotiation response message including an indication of support for the configuration parameter setting; and configuring, by the first optical node, in response to the indication of support, a configuration parameter of an optical transceiver for the first optical node with the configuration parameter setting for the configuration parameter.
Configurable constellation mapping to control spectral efficiency versus signal-to-noise ratio
Mixed mode constellation mapping to map a data block to a block of sub-carriers based on a configurable set of one or more constellation mapping schemes, and corresponding mixed mode least likelihood ratio (LLR) de-mapping based on the configurable set of one or more modulation schemes. The set may be configurable to include multiple modulation schemes to provide to a SEvSNR measure that is a non-weighted or weighted average of SEvSNR measures of the multiple modulation schemes. Mixed mode constellation mapping may be useful be configurable to control spectral efficiency versus SNR (SEvSNR) over a range of SNR with relatively fine SNR granularity, and may be configurable to control SEvSNR over a range of SNR at a fixed FEC code rate, which may include a highest available or highest permitted code rate.
