The system includes at least one data source for transmitting a data stream to a data transmission network; at least one specific purpose processor in communication with the data transmission network, wherein the specific purpose processor is configured to provide a specific data processing operation; a controller coupled the data transmission network, the controller configured to: determine that the data stream requires processing according to a data processing operation; identify a data processing configuration corresponding to the data processing operation; and route the data stream to the at least one specific purpose processor.
Protocol synchronization for HARQ background
A method and apparatus according to the present invention addresses and/or prevents lost protocol synchronization in HARQ systems caused by ACK/NACK errors. One embodiment detects lost synchronization errors for NDI-based retransmission protocols and restores synchronization by sending an explicit RESET message. In response to the RESET message, the transmitter aborts the transmission of a current PDU and transmits a new PDU and corresponding NDI. Another embodiment prevents protocol synchronization errors by sending scheduling grants on a packet by packet basis. The receiver sends a subsequent explicit scheduling grant to the transmitter based on an error evaluation of a received PDU. The transmitter will not send the next PDU unless it receives the subsequent explicit scheduling grant.
PAM4 TRANSCEIVERS FOR HIGH-SPEED COMMUNICATION
The present invention is directed to data communication. More specifically, embodiments of the present invention provide a transceiver that processes an incoming data stream and generates a recovered clock signal based on the incoming data stream. The transceiver includes a voltage gain amplifier that also performs equalization and provides a driving signal to track and hold circuits that hold the incoming data stream, which is stored by shift and holder buffer circuits. Analog to digital conversion is then performed on the buffer data by a plurality of ADC circuits. Various DSP functions are then performed over the converted data. The converted data are then encoded and transmitted in a PAM format. There are other embodiments as well.
Dynamic timing recovery bandwidth modulation for phase offset mitigation
An apparatus may include a sampling circuit configured to produce a sequence of input samples based on a continuous time input signal and a sample clock signal, the sampling phase of the sequence of input samples based on a phase control value output by a timing recovery circuit. In addition, the apparatus may include the timing recovery circuit configured to receive the sequence of input samples, detect, for a current sample of the sequence of input samples, a phase offset in the sampling phase of the sequence of input samples, the phase offset being a deviation of the sampling phase from an expected phase, and in response to detecting the phase offset, select a bandwidth for timing recovery. Further, the timing recovery circuit may generate an updated phase control value based on the selected bandwidth for timing recovery.
MEMORY COMPONENT WITH PATTERN REGISTER CIRCUITRY TO PROVIDE DATA PATTERNS FOR CALIBRATION
A memory component includes a memory core comprising dynamic random access memory (DRAM) storage cells and a first circuit to receive external commands. The external commands include a read command that specifies transmitting data accessed from the memory core. The memory component also includes a second circuit to transmit data onto an external bus in response to a read command and pattern register circuitry operable during calibration to provide at least a first data pattern and a second data pattern. During the calibration, a selected one of the first data pattern and the second data pattern is transmitted by the second circuit onto the external bus in response to a read command received during the calibration. Further, at least one of the first and second data patterns is written to the pattern register circuitry in response to a write command received during the calibration.
Optimized PHY Frame Structure for OFDM Based Narrowband PLC
A method of operating a communication system is disclosed. The method includes forming a data frame having plural orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) symbols. A first set of preamble subcarriers is allocated to at least one of the OFDM symbols. A second set of data subcarriers is allocated to said at least one of the OFDM symbols.
Self-synchronizing probe sequence
A method comprising modulating a plurality of synchronized signals by an orthogonal probe sequence (OPS) to generate a plurality of modulated synchronized signals, wherein the OPS comprises a zero element (0-element) column that indicates a start or an end of the OPS, and concurrently transmitting, using one or more transmitters, the plurality of modulated synchronized signals over a duration of a number of discrete multi-tone (DMT) symbols, wherein each of the plurality of modulated synchronized signals is intended for one of a plurality of receivers that are remotely coupled to the one or more transmitters via a vectored group of subscriber lines, and wherein the 0-element column causes all of the plurality of modulated synchronized signals to have a zero-amplitude during a first or a last of the DMT symbols.
Systems and methods for handling server failovers
Described herein are methods, systems, and software for accommodating failover of a content node in a content delivery network. In one example, a method of operating a content node includes receiving a communication for an end user device from a control node, wherein an interrupted content node previously handled the communication. The method further includes determining if the communication includes a synchronization packet and identifying connection information for the communication. The method also provides, if the communication includes a synchronization packet, accepting the communication and handling delivery for the end user device. The method also includes, if the communication does not include the synchronization packet, determining if a match exists between the connection information for the communication and connection information stored in a flow table, and handling the communication based on the match.
RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
A radio receiver device, arranged to receive a radio signal modulated with a plurality of data symbols, comprises an analogue-to-digital converter that is clocked by a first clock signal and is arranged to receive the radio signal and produce a digital signal. A digital circuit portion, arranged to receive the digital signal produced by the analogue-to-digital converter, comprises digital processing units that are clocked by a second clock derived from the first clock and arranged to process the digital signal and produce an output signal at an output sample rate. A counter, clocked by the second clock, counts a number of samples at the output sample rate. A network timer clocked by a reference of a network clock produces a receiver enable flag which is synchronised to the first clock. The counter is enabled only when the synchronised flag is set. The counter is arranged to set a trigger flag when the number of samples exceeds a predetermined threshold. A buffer is arranged to receive the output signal and is enabled only when the trigger flag is set.
