TIME-DEPENDENT PROGRESSIVE DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
20230006858 · 2023-01-05 ·

A controller device for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system may output, while in a first state, a first user interface for display at a display device, where the first user interface includes first information at a first output size. The controller device may determine, while in the first state and based at least in part on whether an elapsed time since a most recent indication of user input received at a user input device exceeds a timeout period, that no users are physically proximate to the controller device. The controller device may, in response: transition the controller device from the first state to a second state and output a second user interface at the display device, where the second user interface comprises second information at a second output size that is larger than the first output size.

AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AIR CONDITIONER, AND METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING AIR CONDITIONER
20230235912 · 2023-07-27 · ·

A recognition process for an air conditioner is executed while the deterioration of the environment due to stoppage of the air conditioner is suppressed. In an air-conditioning system in which a plurality of air conditioners belonging to an identical refrigerant system are connected through a communication line inside the identical system and a plurality of air conditioners belonging to different refrigerant systems are connected through a communication line outside the different systems, for the plurality of air conditioners belonging to the identical refrigerant system, a recognition process is executable while an air-conditioning control process is executed by transmission through at least the communication line inside the system.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE
20230006862 · 2023-01-05 · ·

The present disclosure relates to an electronic device that efficiently configures a network for controlling another electronic device, and the electronic device includes a communication interface; an input interface configured to receive a control command for another electronic device; and a controller configured to control another electronic device in a different manner according to whether connected to the same network as another electronic device.

VEHICLE-MOUNTED UPDATE DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND PROGRAM UPDATE METHOD
20230004375 · 2023-01-05 ·

Provided is a vehicle-mounted update device for acquiring an update program transmitted from an external server located outside a vehicle, and performing processing for updating a program of a vehicle-mounted ECU mounted in the vehicle, the vehicle-mounted update device including a control unit for controlling transmission of the update program, and a plurality of communication units to which the vehicle-mounted ECU is connected, and when acquiring the update program, the control unit acquires information regarding a communication unit to which a vehicle-mounted ECU to be updated is connected from the external server, and outputs the update program from the communication unit to which the vehicle-mounted ECU to be updated is connected, based on the acquired information regarding the communication unit to which the vehicle-mounted ECU to be updated is connected.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLING AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE IN A SMART HOME SYSTEM

A computer implemented method in a smart home system is provided. The method comprises defining, by sensing an indoor position of a wearable electronic device comprising an indoor positioning module, an area in a real-world indoor environment, and attributing a rule to the defined area, the rule comprising one or more settings to be applied to one or more electronic devices upon a user being detected in the defined area.

Network access coordination of load control devices

An apparatus may control the power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load, and may comprise a controllably conductive device. The apparatus may also comprise a controller that may be operatively coupled to a control input of the controllably conductive device. The apparatus may also include a first wireless communication circuit operable to communicate via a first protocol and to join a first wireless communication network operable to communicate via the first protocol. The first wireless communication circuit may be in communication with the controller. The controller may be operative to determine a first condition for communicating via the first protocol. The controller may also be operable to control the first wireless communication circuit to join the first wireless communication network upon the first condition being satisfied.

Method and system to identify a source of signal impairment

A method and system for managing performance of over a multimedia content distribution network (MCDN), such as a digital subscriber line network, involves receiving an indication of an impairment in network performance from an MCDN client. The MCDN node associated with the client may be identified and a community of MCDN clients coupled to the MCDN node may be further identified. Impairment information, representative of MCDN equipment, may be collected for each of the MCDN clients. Detailed network diagnostics and field service may be performed for MCDN clients based on a characterization of the impairment parameters. After remediation of the MCDN node, collection of the impairment information may be terminated.

Remote contractor system with site specific energy audit capability

A system that allows a contractor to remotely monitor and/or interact with its customers' building control systems, such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and analyze information obtained from the building control systems over time. Such a system may help the contractor monitor and diagnosis customer building control systems, setup service calls, achieve better customer relations, create more effective marketing opportunities, as well as other functions. In some cases, the disclosed system may include a controller that analyzes data from HVAC systems, determines a thermal model of a space environmentally controlled by an HVAC system, and provides an energy audit of the space that is environmentally controlled by the HVAC system. The controller may output a result of the energy audit to a user.

In-vehicle network system, fraud-detection electronic control unit, and fraud-detection method

In a fraud-detection method for use in an in-vehicle network system including a plurality of electronic control units (ECUs) that exchange messages on a plurality of networks, a plurality of fraud-detection ECUs each connected to a different one of the networks, and a gateway device, a fraud-detection ECU determines whether a message transmitted on a network connected to the fraud-detection ECU is malicious by using rule information stored in a memory. The gateway device receives updated rule information transmitted to a first network among the networks, selects a second network different from the first network, and transfers the updated rule information only to the second network. A fraud-detection ECU connected to the second network acquires the updated rule information and updates the rule information stored therein by using the updated rule information.
