METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO TRACK PROTOCOL AND HARDWARE RESOURCE STATE TRANSITIONS
20220159102 · 2022-05-19 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to protocol state transition and/or resource state transition tracker configured to monitor, e.g., via filters, for certain protocol state transitions/changes or host hardware resource transitions/changes when a host processor in the control plane that performs such monitoring functions is unavailable or overloaded. The filters, in some embodiments, are pre-computed/computed by the host processor and transmitted to the protocol state transition and/or resource state transition tracker. The protocol state transition and/or resource state transition tracker may be used to implement a fast upgrade operation as well as load sharing and or load balancing operation with control plane associated components.

Legacy time division multiplexing (TDM) service support in a packet network and on a packet network element

A network element includes at least two Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) modules each including a TDM client interface, TDM processing circuitry, and circuit emulation circuitry; and a packet switch fabric connected to the at least two TDM modules in a Link Aggregation Group (LAG) for a protected TDM service, and configured to output a packet interface, wherein the protected TDM service is provided as a single packetized TDM stream via the packet interface from the packet switch fabric.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED LOAD BALANCING WITH LIMITED FORWARDING RULES IN SOFTWARE DEFINED NETWORKS
20220124038 · 2022-04-21 ·

The present disclosure relates to a device and method for a traffic forwarding network device and proposes a solution for imbalance issues by adapting load balancing to real traffic conditions. The network device tries to solve imbalance issues locally by readjusting the traffic of problematic flows and in case the issues cannot be solved locally, notifies a central network controller to reconfigure the network in order to solve the imbalance issue.

SERIAL CONSOLE TRANSPORT OFFLOAD WITH SMART NETWORK INTERFACE CONTROLLER

An information handling system may include a host system, a management controller configured to provide out-of-band management of the information handling system, and a network interface including a network interface processor. The information handling system may be configured to: transmit serial console data from the host system to the network interface; store the serial console data in onboard storage of the network interface; and execute, at the network interface processor, a management agent configured to provide access to the serial console data from a remote information handling system.

DETECTING SOURCES OF COMPUTER NETWORK FAILURES

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for detecting sources of computer network failures. One of the methods includes identifying a network flow in a computer network between a source and a destination; performing a first probe to determine whether there is end-to-end connectivity between the source and the destination; in response to determining that there is no end-to-end connectivity between the host and the destination, performing one or more additional probes including a second probe to determine whether each hop in the path of the network flow between the source and the destination is operational including requesting that the source transmit a respective first trace diagnostic packet to each hop in the path of the network flow; and determining whether at least one link of the computer network that is part of the path of the network flow has failed based on the results.
